Canning Tongs

A modern update of traditional canning tongs, this tool is designed for easy one-handed use when lifting jars in and out of a boiling-water bath. Spring-loaded hinges keep the lifter open until you apply pressure, which makes it easier to lower the tongs over each jar. Spring loaded for convenient one-handed use. Textured nonslip gripper edges safely remove jars from hot water. Curved handles provide a secure, ergonomic grip. BPA-free. Dishwasher safe. 3" x 3 3/4" x 10 1/4" high.

Love These!!!!
December 2, 2013
I Love these canning tongs! I have had several pair of the traditional kind, but always had a problem with the jars slipping, splashing hot water, etc. since they wouldn't grip. With these, that problem is SOLVED! These pick up small 1 cup jars just as easily as the large quart jars, and they don't slip. Also, the grip is very easy, and even after doing several batches of preserves, my hands were not sore. These sure made my life MUCH easier, and I highly recommend them.
The quality of my pair seems great despite the unfortunate experience of the prior reviewer, and I'm purchasing another for my daughter.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Appearance, Design, Weight, easy grip

The Caning tongs failed
June 16, 2013
I used it a few times last year. But this year, when I fist used it to take jars out of the water bath prior to putting in the jam, the tongs broke. The plastic just failed completely. Fortunately, no one got hurt and I was able tio purchase wire ones from Ball, made in USA.
Don't use these tongs
Cons: materials, Not Durable, they break

Excellent Design
July 26, 2012
These can be used with one hand. I have early onset arthritis and these make handling jars safer and much easier.
The tongs are curved on the bottom and fit well around the top of the jar. Also makes it much easier to drain water out of jars that have been filled with water during the sterilization process.
Can't imagine canning without these.
Pros: well designed, sturdy, can use one handed, do not conduct heat
Cons: none
