Do not buy!

I bought this coffee pot few months back as I really liked the design. But unfortunately I didn't use it for a couple of moths as I was busy with travels, and when I finally decided to put it to use, I realized that: 1) it was quite tarnished, & 2) the lid doesn't fit/shut properly making it difficult to pour hot coffee. I wonder how it passed the quality control.
Unfortunately, I've crossed the return window and I'm stuck with an item that can never be used. I hope that WS can still help me with returning this defective item.
Cons: High-Maintenance, Quality

Seriously?
In my experience, if this is obviously defective, Williams-Sonoma will at least exchange it for a new one.
Beyond that, to buy a silver plated item and not know or expect that it's going to need polishing a few times a year is a bit silly.
Williams-Sonoma doesn't have any control of the laws of physics. Silver and silver plate tarnish no matter who makes it or the item. It's also easy to polish -- take it from someone who owns a full set of Mauviel copper and several pieces of silver and actually ENJOYS polishing them (plus it's quick and easy).
One out of five, really? That's hardly fair or useful to those of us who know and expect silver plate is going to tarnish.

W-S WILL Accept Returns Of Defective Items
My experience has been positive, when I take the defective item into a store. Then the salesperson can see the problem and will probably accept the return. You need to be willing to accept store credit rather than a return of cash or credit. Good luck.
P.S. This line of items has other bad reviews. That might help your cause.
