Pillivuyt Coupe Porcelain Dinnerware Collection

From France, this classic white porcelain dinnerware is as sturdy as it is stylish. The plates and bowls feature a timeless coupe design with a gentle contour and sleek rim. Thanks to an innovative formulation of various clays, the porcelain's delicate appearance belies its strength. Dressed up or down with formal or casual linens, flatware and glassware, this versatile dinnerware coordinates seamlessly with a variety of patterned pieces. Made of high-fired porcelain. Microwavable and dishwasher safe. 5-piece place setting includes a dinner plate, salad plate, soup plate and cup with saucer. 20-piece set includes four 5-piece place settings. Additional pieces available in sets of four. Made in France by Pillivuyt, makers of fine porcelain since 1818.

Compare to Apilco
November 9, 2012
I had a hard time choosing between Pilivuyt and Apilco. As far as I can tell with my limited number of pieces from both sets here are some differences.
- Pillivuyt feels heavier
- The whites are NOT the same. Pillivuyt white is a warmer white and Apilco is a cooler white. I personally prefer the Apilco white.
- The handle on the Pillivuyt cup/saucer set is much thinner than Apilco's. Nice because it can fit fatter fingers, but not so nice because it really does feel too thin and it's harder to hold the cup.
I don't own a lot of Pillivuyt pieces, but the coupe line in particular is much more elegant in my opinion.
Pros: easy to wash, Durable, classic
