great at first, but doesn't last long

When we first bought this can opener, it was great. We had it for about 6 months before it stopped working well. Now we have to run the can opener around the can 5 times before it'll cut through the can completely.
In general, it has a nice design. It's comfortable to use and ergonomic. The little beak on the side does a great job in grabbing the can lid for removal. But the cutting blade dulls after repeated use.
We used this can opener twice a day to open wet cat food cans, so it did get a lot of use.
Pros: Easy to Use, Easy to Clean
Cons: doesn't last long

The best can opener I have ever had! It was a little tricky at first, but after trying it the first time, it was very easy to use!

Hard to figure out

I had to watch an online tutorial to figure out how to use this can opener. My boyfriend can't figure it out no matter how many times I show him. It is easy to get started but getting the lid of of certain cans is kind of difficult.

A "MUST" FOR KITCHEN SAFETY

Opening canned goods will never frustrate you again when you use an OXO smooth edge can opener. Every can opens easily and the lid has no sharp edges.
I just sent one to my daughter-in-law for Christmas. She will never cut her finger trying to remove a lid! Last year a bad can top sent her to the emergency room for stitches.

I don't know how it works really, but it works. I'm throwing my old crank opener away .... No more finger cuts or stubborn lids. LOVE it!

My One and Only

After purchasing this Can Opener, I toss my other two El-Cheapo ones :) that I used and struggle with every time. This one is just simply brilliant, easy to use, don't have to apply pressure, soft on the hands and most of all don't have to worry about metal shaving falling into content w/in the can. Well worth the price.

For the 30+ and elderly who can't figure out the "new fangled" can opener designs -- this is your can opener.
