Organic Italian Large Leaf Basil
Enjoy fresh-from-the-garden pesto all spring and summer with this cold-hardy variety of basil (Ocimum basilicum). Very easy to grow, the annual yields aplentiful harvest of extra-large aromatic green leaves you can use fresh or dried to season vegetables, pizza, tomato sauces and salads. Basil is also known as a powerful antioxidant and has been used by herbalists to treat colds, curb indigestion and boost the immune system. Organic. Appropriate for all growing zones. A little setback but is huge now

I bought this herb along with all the others as an early Mother's Day present. All the herbs except the Basil took off in our pots outside in standard Miracle-Grow. The Basil was limp for some strange reason, not from over-watering or anything that we could pinpoint. Finally though, after about 2-3 weeks in beautiful spring weather, it made a comeback and is growing at an incredible rate!

Very unhealthy plants

I was sent four plants and within a week they all died. I don't know if the problem is in the soil or maybe the odor from the burlap did something to the plants. I used the organic potting soil from this company to pot other house plants, now the plants are also getting brown spots. I hope I can replant them in a different soil to save them. W/S sent a refund for the plants. I have always been happy with purchases made there and was totally surprised at the poor quality of these plants.
Pros: none
Cons: died within a week.
