Olive Wood Salt Keeper
Beautiful and practical, this box keeps up to 8 oz. of cooking salt within close reach. Handcrafted of richly grained olive wood with an oil finish, it has a swiveling magnetic lid for easy one-handed access. Carved from olive wood, each box has a unique grain pattern. Swiveling lid with magnetic latch keeps salt fresh and dry while allowing easy one-handed access. Stainless-steel hinge resists corrosion. Handcrafted by Berard, maker of fine wood products since 1892. May be engraved with a single- or triple-initial monogram.

I love mine... Beautiful enough to sit out on my counter top. The wood feels great and sturdy. Makes a great gift for the person who has everything. Have it monogrammed and they will think of you every time they use it. Even if the recipient isn't a cook there a hundreds of uses for it. Great gift idea for a crafter (a place to store beads or supplies) or can be used to hold jewelry and such.

I received this as a wedding gift -- it wasn't even on my registry. But it's turned out to be something we use everyday, looks pretty on the counter, and the swivel tout is convenient. Salt keeps well, never gets clumpy.

Love gift - would have liked monogram

The only downside is that when I bought it, monograming was not available. But the keeper is beautiful - I use it daily and just love the look and feel of the wood. I redeemed a birthday gift card for it and am SO happy with my decision...and it makes me think of my daughter each time I use it.

A few years back I received the olive wood salt bowl as a gift. This year I bought one for a friend as part of a wedding gift because I love mine so much. I had it monogrammed for the special couple and it came out wonderful. What a special gift! Don't hesitate just buy it, you will not regret it.

Seasoning food while it cooks is the difference between bland and flavorful food. This salt keeper is lovely, really well made, and can be easily opened and closed with one hand. I got my initial engraved on the top, which looks great, subtle but great!

My sister-in-law has one and I fell it love with it so she surprised me and gave me one and I love it so I ordered another one and had a P put on it and I use them for salt and pepper bowls on the table. I love them and who knows who will get them as a gift.

Excellent Salt Keeper

My niece gave me one of these a couple of years ago. It looks good, feels nice and keeps salt beautifully. I so liked it, that I gave her one back for Christmas. Her sister so liked it that I just bought one for her too.
The wood is beautifully patterned and has a warm smooth feel. Try it with some special pink salt for a real visual treat.

I was so happy with my first wood salt keeper that I bought another to give as a gift. The wood is beautiful and the keeper looks great on the counter. It also is very practical - easy to open with one hand while you are measuring the salt.

I recently purchased the Olive Wood Salt Keeper. I just love it, lttle smaller than I thought but it is really nice. Love the quality of wood used. Nice to keep at the stove ready to go with the ease of the top sliding open.

salt and pepper keepers

after reading reviews of this product, i wasn't certain what to expect. i was pleased beyond words. i find this olive wood salt (and pepper...i got two!) keeper to be both utilitarian and good-looking. an excellent addition to my kitchen and cooking skills since my most popular and necessary seasonsings are literally at my fingertips. they are just the right size, easily refilled and do not require much space. thank you william sonoma for carrying such an item. i expect they will last for years and are well worth the price.

nice, but do NOT get the monogram

Beautiful wood, strong magnetic latch, very nice
The monogram option should be avoided. It detracts a bit from the beauty of the piece. It may have been better had the monogram been aligned with the grain, but it was done at an odd angle and just does not look that great. Even worse, the monogram was off-center. This makes the beautiful piece look cheap. If I had it to do over, I would buy it, but without the monogram.
