Glasses scratched and clouded almost immediately

I love Williams Sonoma products and have never been disappointed with anything, but these glasses scratched and clouded almost immediately. We only wash them in a new Miele dishwasher, always on the top rack, and they look terrible. Very surprising and disappointing for WS and for the cost.
Cons: clouded, scratched, disappointing quality for the cost

Quality glasses

These casual glasses were recommended to me years ago for their durability and attractiveness. My family uses them every day and they have been in the dishwasher hundreds of times. They look the same as the day I bought them.
If you are looking for highly durable (You can stand on them.), long-lasting glasses that you can use outside or for casual use, there is no better set on the market. I have the clear set and the multi-colored set now, both very nice looking. They look exactly as the online photo.
They are expensive but they won't need replacing for many years. They don't scratch or break and go in dishwasher! What more could anyone ask for???

DuraClear Tumblers

I bought a set of these years ago. I still have them and they still look wonderful. With two teenagers, they are constantly in the dishwasher and still look beautiful. I like them so much, I bought a second set to replace all those stupid dollar tumblers that look awful after a month or so. I am now purchasing a third set for our second home. Well worth every penny!

beautiful glass

We wanted a plastic glass for a patio area. The multicolor set is beautiful and very ergonomic. We hope they last as well as our 10 year old set they are replacing.

Poor Quality Compared to older Glasses

I ordered these glasses engraved for my friend and thought they would be ENGRAVED as featured on the website, just like some glasses I personally own. However the glasses came with the initials FROSTED on. Not only were they not engraved like shown on the website (and my glasses that I own) they frosted monogram wasn't even straight. And, the glasses were very very scratched. They looked used already. I sent them back and got a new set... same thing, frosted and scratched even worse. Its too bad they dont make them like they used to!

Disappointed in cheapened quality

We had previously received a set of these monogrammed cups as a gift about 2 years ago and we LOVED them! We then ordered 2 more sets for gifts within the next year and again, we were very happy with the product. The recievers of the gift also loved them. However, this year when we ordered these cups, we were very disappointed to find that they had cheapened the quality. The material of the cups is a thinner plastic and does not feel as sturdy. In addition, the monogrammed is no longer the beautifully, defined engraving. It is now a small, frosted letter. We were so upset to see that these cups no longer had the thick plastic and that the mongramming was no longer engraved! We will not recommend these again and will definitely not purchase these again unless the original quality returns.
Cons: small monogram not engraved only etched, plastic was scratched

Almost 2 years old and still perfect

I purchased a set of these to add to a set I was given during Christmas 2010. I purchased my set on 12/3/2010 and we use them as our everyday glasses so the grand-kids cannot hurt them or themselves.
After almost two years of daily use and dishwasher washing, they are still perfectly clear and have NO cracks at all. One of them has a scratch where it was scraped against something but even that is so minor it is hard to see.
I will definitely continue to use these and recommend them to anyone.

Description inaccurate, they do crack

I purchased these expecting to get what is in the description. I thought they would be a quality product and last a long time as suggested by the description that is still current on the website. "tumblers are now made in the USA from a crystal-clear shatter-resistant polycarbonate, they won't crack or break" Mine have all unfortunately cracked and have scratches. As a consumer I feel the description should be accurate, and what is currently in the description is inaccurate. Don't waste your $

Very Nice Tall Tumblers for General Use

I bought the DuraClear Tall Tumblers. They looked good after coming out of the dishwasher. They are nice to hold when drinking. I like the shape and size. I got the set in colors and I like the colors they come in. I just got them but expect them to last many years as my sisters are lasting. She's had hers for four years, puts them in the dishwasher and they still look good!

DuraClear users -- 'cracks'

First of all, I love my DuraClear -- no etching or cloudiness... BUT I have been reading various reviews about cracks. My opinion is that this “cracking”, which is barely detectable on either the inside or outside surface of the glass is from molding stress. The few cracked glasses that I have are always perpendicular to the ‘table’. It looks like the material is ejected from the bottom of the glass and either the molding cycle time is too little or the ‘flow’ of the material is being affected by temp. I think it is a manufacturing problem; however, what you are putting in the glass could also be affecting it on the surface or even possibly show defects. Again, on my glasses, this defect can be barely felt with my finger, but my fingernail does not detect an actual crack on the surface. It can be seen in certain lighting and from certain angles. Still love my DuraClear, but I use to work at a plastics complany and expected some cosmetic issues.

Love these tumblers

I bought a set of these last year and thought I paid alot for them but the sales person told me they would not cloud and I could put them in the dishwasher. This year I bought a set of the multi color ones because I love them and use them all the time. Since I love to share a great find I bought this set for neice's birthday. I hope she enjoys them as much as I do!

The rainbow of colors on these are just beautiful! Bought them as a housewarming gift for a friend in 2009 and they were still clear, scratch free and perfect when I visited her this spring. Now $10 less per set than when I bought them last, I had to get a set of my own! I am definitely handwashing these and removing my rings to dry - so worth a little tlc..
Pros: no glass confusion for guests!, perfect on the patio!
Cons: small colored tumblers no longer available

"Clear" doesn't last"

Bought these higher priced plastics in the hopes they would last a while. But repeated washing with a sponge and soapy water has rendered them foggy opaque at best. Maybe you cannot expect lifetime clear from plastic, but at $10 a glass we expected more. They are cut herb holders for the fridge now...

Happy with glasses

I've had these glasses a couple of weeks, and so far I am happy with them. One of them did arrive with some tiny scratches and I considered sending them back, but decided it wasn't worth the expense or hassle. So far, no additional scratches have occurred; however, I hand wash them. When, and if, they offer the smaller size in colors, I will probably purchase them too.

Finally dishwasher-safe plastic glasses

I have only had these tumblers for a few weeks, but so far, so good. I love the feel and the weight of the tumblers. Time will tell if they stay clear being washed in the dishwasher.
I wish they came 8 in a set. I would like more, but I do not need 12 (two sets) tumblers. They are a little expensive, so I was happy to get them on sale and with no shipping charge.

Engraving quality is a BIG problem!

I have ordered and used these glasses for the past year and have loved them. However, when I ordered additional glasses this month they came and the engraving style has changed. The engraving was misaligned and looked terrible so I ordered a replacement for them. The second set arrived with the same issue and all scratched as well! VERY disappointed! If you order them, I would recomed you get them WITHOUT engraving.
Pros: very comfortable fit in your hand
Cons: new engraving technique is terrible

Tumblers - poor quality

I bought the short clear tumblers a while ago and they have been excellent and still going strong a year later so I bought 2 sets of these colored tall tumblers. After just a few washes they are starting to crack all over. I am very disappointed. I may try to return them.

Even though the info states these are dishwasher safe I wouldn't use the heat-dry setting... That is what can destroy even glassware. These are too nice to ruin just to save a few steps. Good shape, size, material and weight.
