A Milestone Piece for Cookbook Mavens

Ok. I'll admit that i have a cookbook habit. I've been lusting after Modernist Cuisine since the original version came out last year. I knew, however, that it was probably too much for even a serious home cook. Plus, I didn't want to stop shopping at WS to buy the $400+ version! My husband ordered this for me as soon as it became available, and I'm fascinated: Stunning photography, lots of science (very approachable). It will change the way you view the kitchen! Even if I never cook sous-vide or full-blown molecular gastronomy, I now understand more about how it and more traditional techniques work and will incorporate this learning into my cooking! If you are the type of person who loves going to restaurants where chefs showcase their skills via tasting menus, you MUST have this tome!
