Improve Design
October 18, 2013
I like this pan, but based on the reviews, and my own experience, removing the scones can be trying. I think that Nordic could redesign this pan with a removable insert, which could be used to cut dough for spanikopia, or samosas for instance. The base pan could be used for other baked items. I would like the ability to used the pan for other things.
Thanks for the opportunity to make a suggestion.
Pros: Durable, Quality, Easy to Clean, Size, Weight
Cons: not versatile

Baker's Joy or Pam [Baking] Spray Very Effective
Good suggestions for increased versatility of the mini-scone pan. For the immediate concern of easy removal of scones from mini scone pan, I find great success with Baker's Joy or Pam [Baking] spray. Spray somewhat lightly since the scone pan is technically non-stick. Distribute dough [from a scone mix] among all sixteen cavities. Cavities will be slightly more than half full. Bake approx. 14-15 minutes; less time than for a pan intended for larger scones. Cool for approximately 10 or 15 minutes. To remove scones from pan, put an unbreakable plate or small cookie sheet over the scone pan; then turn the "assembly" over. Tap the scone pan a few times, lightly shaking the pan, to let gravity assist you. The scones should fall out onto the plate or cookie sheet. Arrange for serving, or freeze the scones. To unfreeze them, put several at a time in a microwave oven, and re-heat no more than 30 seconds. Any longer heating makes the scones tough. Good luck!
