This glass popcorn popper makes popping corn in the microwave easy and healthy - a superior alternative to buying expensive bags of microwave popcorn. You can enjoy perfectly popped corn with just the right amount of melted butter in less than three minutes. Heat-resistant borosilicate (laboratory glass). Silicone lid holds butter that slowly melts into your popcorn as it pops. No oil necessary to pop corn. Makes about 2 1/2 quarts of popcorn. 6" diam.; 7 1/2" high. Made in China.

Burnt corn
April 14, 2013
This product is horrible. It takes much longer to pop than the 3 minutes on the directions-more like 5 min. Even then some kernels are unpopped and others burned. We tried 3 times, to give it a chance, even measuring the amount of popcorn kernels on a scale to make sure we were following the directions exactly. We are returning ours.
Pros: Size
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Fragile, Shape

Love this popper
April 6, 2013
My husband and I eat popcorn a lot. This is the first method that we both can say really works great in getting tasty popcorn without oil and any hassle. We have had no problems with it; however, we do not use the popcorn setting on our microwave. We usually time it for 5 minutes (the kernels don't start to pop for at least 3 minutes). Around 4-4 1/2 minutes you might have to stop the microwave if they are finished popping to avoid burning. The butter melts perfectly. Just add salt and enjoy.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Fragile

Great gift
February 21, 2013
I bought this for Christmas for my teen age son who loves popcorn. It's very easy to use. We use 1/4 cup of kernels and NO BUTTER on the top. When we tried w/the butter on top, popcorn burns. We also use the popcorn key on the microwave and listen when the poping slows just like when you use the microwave bag popcorn. It's easy to clean. we hand wash and air dry it.

This micro wave popcorn popper works great. I did not use the automatic butter option so I cannot comment on how well that works.

Excellent Popper
January 21, 2013
I was so happy to get this popper and it didn't disappoint me! Have used it several times already. I put in 1/4 cup of popcorn and hit the popcorn button on my microwave. As soon as I don't hear it popping anymore, I stop it and the popcorn is perfect. The only complaint I would have is that the opening is rather small and clumpsy for pouring the popcorn out. Other than that it is perfect in every way. I love watching it pop!! The only thing I can think of for people having problems is that they are using too much popcorn and/or an inferior popcorn kernal.

Disappointing popcorn maker
January 17, 2013
This was a Christmas gift from my children, and I very much looked forward to using it. After three tries, I give up. Either there are a good number of kernels left unpopped, or the popcorn burns. I've made many purchases from WS over the years, from measuring cups to Le Creuset, and absolutely love each and every one of them. I'm disappointed that this product works so poorly, and saddened that as my children begin collecting goods for their own kitchens, one of their first purchases was less than fantastic. This item simply isn't the quality I expect from WS.
Cons: Quality

Easy,Convenient,Great Results!
January 13, 2013
I am so glad I purchased this on a whim. It's really easy to use and I have had great results every time. I have been using it with Pop Secret Popcorn with margarine for approx. 4 minutes and about 90% of the corn is popped with no burning. One bonus is the glass cools down quickly. This works better than the stupid cuisinart one that cost twice as much. I would recommended this to anyone who likes popcorn.
Pros: Easy to Use, Design, convenient

Don't waste your money
January 8, 2013
This doesn't work at all and it makes terrible popcorn when it's not burning it. I ordered online and The box said sun tea maker on the outside. I think I will repurpose this popper into a sun tea maker. Maybe it will make tea better than popcorn.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: doesn't work

Practice Makes PERFECT Popcorn!
January 7, 2013
I bought two of these poppers for Christmas gifts - one for my parents and one for my husband. My husband and I have used it now a handful of times and LOVE it....but, practice makes perfect!
We use Pop Secret kernels and put just enough in the jar to cover the bottom. We put a pat of margarine in the top with just a little bit of salt. We set the microwave on 2 minutes and let her rip! As soon as it finishes, we repeat the process. Time will obvioulsy vary by microwave type.
The popcorn is so much healthier than what you get in the microwave bags and you can control how much butter and salt you use. We really LOVE it!!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Design
Cons: hard to get the right method at first

December 25, 2012
Have just used it. I used 3oz of Orville Redenbacher &1Tlb of Butter. Started it on the popcorn button on the microwave which was for 2min then added 1 more minute not enough added 30 seconds. Popped almost all the popcorn had to dig it out with a fork! Added more melted butter and it was great.

Doesn't work
December 24, 2012
I tried this numerous times and couldn't get it to work correctly no matter what I did. My popcorn was either burnt to a crisp or had so many unpopped kernels that it was pointless. This ended up in the garbage. Disappointing!

glass popcorn popper
December 19, 2012
Well so far tonight I have popped 3 sets of popcorn..the first one had butter and it was totally burned...what a mess...the second popped and used the popcorn selection on my microwave but only 1/4th of the corn popped...on my third try I left out the butter..and it worked pretty good but left 1/4 of the corn unpopped.. I can honestly say that the directions on the box are bad..does not recommend using the popcorn setting only says pop for 3 minutes well that DOES NOT work it burns bad! I was in hopes that it would be an easy way to pop corn but no it really does not work so got my trusty pan out and made my 4th batch on the stove as I have always done..think you guys need to go back to the drawing board.

My new go-to popcorn method!
December 15, 2012
Not sure if the other reviewers have a problem with their microwave, but works 100% as advertised.
My wife and I bought for Christmas but decided to try it out a little early. I put in 3oz of Orville Redenbacher popcorn, which is just under 1/2 cup, and 1 tablespoon of butter. (We usually use white amish popcorn, but were out.) The result was a full popper full of tasty popcorn. Time was 3 1/2 minutes in my microwave... should have stopped a few seconds earlier. Although almost all the kernels were popped, a few in the middle started to burn. Next time I am going to try the popcorn sense button and see if that works. Also, a full 3 oz leaves the jar full, where it starts to get packed in.
Will use more than our whirly pop, because it is so easy! No more melting butter and using a paper bag to coat the popcorn!
Also, this is a good price for Williams-Sonoma. At first, I thought, wow, why don't we just use a glass bowl. But, the design keeps popcorn in and the butter dripper is great!
Pros: Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Design

December 8, 2012
I bought this popper to add to my kitchen ,a week ago , and we have already used it a ton ! It is a healthy way to make popcorn and it is so easy to use. You can use about 1/4 popcorn , which equals about 2-3 oz of popcorn and watch it pop away . You wont be disappointed in it.

I can't believe the bad reviews!
November 29, 2012
I am a serious popcorn addict! My MIL got this for me a couple months ago and we have used it a ton! I followed the directions exactly and haven't had an issue, perfect popping every time. We tried Pop Secret brand and also the boys scouts. Pop Secret tasted best in our opinion. Maybe every microwave is different and that's the issue but I love this popper!
