Microplane(R) Meat Tenderizer

Made by the American company that dramatically altered kitchen graters forever, the etched "teeth" of this rolling tenderizer sever the tough fibers of flavorful but lean cuts of meat, and help marinades penetrate more deeply. Semicircular broad cutting edge has razor-sharp stainless-steel teeth for tenderizing lean cuts of meat or poultry. Molded black plastic handle. Dual-purpose clear plastic blade cover doubles as an ergonomic handle cushion. Dishwasher safe.

I threw it out
October 3, 2013
I liked the idea of this tool, and it actually worked okay, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to clean the bits of meat stuck in the thing. I finally got so frustrated that after several attempts to get it clean, I just threw it in the garbage.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: Difficult to Clean

Question about use
Hi - I'm wondering if, after using this item, you rinsed it immediately in cold water? Certain food items will "cook" onto a utensil if rinsed in hot (even very warm) water. When this happens, it does make it very difficult to properly clean. For example, after grating cheese, I immediately rinse and scrub my grater with cold water and the cheese cleans right off. At times when someone else in my household has grated cheese and then left the grater laying in the sink, it took great effort to get it clean.
