Quality Control - Poor
January 6, 2013
I recently purchased this professional copper rondeau and I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the two pots I received. The copper on the first pot was totally discolored with black stains all over. I requested a replacement and the copper on the replacement was a great improvement however the cast handles are roughed and chipped with indentation. I have not yet decided whether to return the second pot as despite the defects in the handle it is a beautiful copper pot.
I am fully aware that the copper will get discolored especially with use but at this price I expected better qualify from the manufacturer and WS. I am still trying to decide whether to return the item. I wish this item was sold in the store so a customer can inspect before purchase and save the headache of numerous returns with the hope of getting a good quality product.
Pros: Durable, Size, Design
Cons: Quality

Black Spots
I purchased an M250 Saute Pan with Lid which arrived with dark spots like you mention. I used Copperbrill and the spots came off easily without scratching the copper finish.

Black Spots?
I recently got a Mauviel fry pan myself and noticed black spots similar to the ones you described. Did you try to wash them off with Bar Keepers Friend? They came right off when I did that.
