Lodge Cast-Iron Dutch Oven

America's oldest family-owned cookware foundry, Lodge has been forging cast-iron pots and pans since 1896. Cast iron provides exceptionally even heating, so foods sear, brown and cook beautifully. Preseasoned and ready to use, this versatile Dutch oven is perfect for making slow-simmered batches of chili and stew, baking "no-knead" bread or braising pot roast. Heavyweight cast iron transfers and retains heat evenly. Preseasoned for a smooth finish that resists sticking and rust. Includes a tight-fitting, rounded lid to keep moisture from escaping. Basting spikes on the lid's interior collect moisture and direct it back to the food. Two handles make it easy to move the pot, even when full. Ideal for use on any type of cooktop, including induction. Oven and broiler safe. Made in USA.

Chili, stews, braises and soups for the masses
November 2, 2016
I love this dutch oven, I got the 7 quart and it's a big one. Ideal for a big group of people, can easily feed six full grown voracious adults. There will be a lot of left overs if you cook for two in this giant dutch oven. The pot is super easy to use as the handles are substantial and ready for holding. The lid is nice and heavy and fits on snug. I've cooked white chili, bean chili, beef stews, tahdig (crispy rice), braised ribs, borscht and a number of other comfort foods in this giant dutch oven. The results have been pleasing so far. The only possible con is how heavy it is, but it's cast iron, any cast irons at this size will be on the heavier side. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would love to own the five quart size.
Pros: Color, Design, Durable, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Easy to Use, Quality, Shape, Size, Versatile

A little heavy
August 2, 2014
I really do love this piece. I have been looking for a while for a nice cast iron at a reasonable price and finally found it. My only complaint is the weight. It is very heavy but I wouldn't trade it.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Size
Cons: Weight
