Le Creuset Signature Round Dutch Oven

Inspired by nearly a century of culinary craftsmanship, Le Creuset is proud to present the Signature collection as the next evolution of its enameled cast-iron cookware. Signature seamlessly blends Le Creuset's classic form and feel with the latest ergonomic and functional innovations. This Dutch oven is designed specifically to enhance slow-cooking by heating evenly and locking in moisture for more tender results. Optimized for steady, even heat, Le Creuset's improved enamel interior resists staining, dulling and wear and tear. Enamel interior's light sand color makes it easy to monitor food while cooking, ensuring less sticking and burning. Stabilizers in the newly engineered lid prevent rocking, keeping the lid snugly in place. Improved ergonomic, composite knob resists temperatures up to 500deg.F and provides a sure grip. Handles are 45% larger to provide a better grip, even while wearing oven mitts. Enameled cast-iron construction boasts superior heat-retention and requires no additional seasoning. Dishwasher safe for fast, convenient cleanup. Made in France.

Essential for making good food
May 7, 2013
This pot caramelizes onions perfectly every time, which really makes a difference in stews, risottos, curries, soups, etc.
I have only had mine for a couple of months, but my mother has had hers for over 30 years.
I highly recommend getting this dutch oven. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and never disappoints.

Wish I had bought sooner!
March 13, 2013
I love the LeCreuset dutch oven! I always cook for 6+ so I bought the 13+ qt pan so I would have the capacity to cook anything from soups - stews - roasts . This pan cooks all my family's favorites better than my old pan. It browns wonderfully and I get beautiful bits on the bottom to flavor my sauces, I never get hot spots. When the big red pot comes out my family knows we are going to feast! I wish I had not waited so long to spend the money on such a quality product, it is so worth it! Now I am considering a 7-9 quart for yummy sides like risotto , braised veggies and creamy pastas. I plan to give my children LeCreuset as a wedding gift so they will not cook for years without it like I did.

The Perfect Lifetime Pot
February 22, 2013
The 5.5 qt. is the perfect size for most braising recipes. This pot heats evenly, holds heat extremely well and recovers quickly when browning meat and aromatics; yet it braises gently. This is the perfect size for a lifetime pot.

Finally! Waited a looong time!
February 5, 2013
Thanksgiving--Xmas 2011, I bought all the Ocean LC baking dishes I could afford. I waited and saved for the cookware. Today, I finally got the 5.5 round Dutch and the 3.5 round wide (also Ocean). I cooked the best roast of my life! The oven holds heat well for those arriving home later, and cleaning was effortless. I would buy it again just for the easy cleaning. After washing, I sat it on the stove just to look at it.

A worthy investment
December 27, 2012
After years of admiring Le Creuset from afar, I finally purched a Round Dutch Oven and Deep Saute Pan. So glad that I did! The 7.25 Qt size Dutch Oven is perfect for making sauces, soups, and cooking larger quantities of food. Despite the weight, it heats quickly and evenly and is great for keeping food warm while serving. My first time using an enamel finish - which has proven very resilient and effective. No need to scrub (just let soak for a little while). The Ocean color is more beautiful in person and looks great on the stove or table. I would highly recommend.

Love these pots!!!
December 15, 2012
I have the 2qt and 51/2 qt, I use them every chance I get. When I need to make something quickly (like weeknight meals) the 2 qt is my automatic go to great for every little thing: sides, soups for 2, eggs (fits about 8 for boiling). Love it, and great for a novice cook like me, or folks who cook for 2 or 1 =)

Classic cookware
December 11, 2012
The investment in the best dutch oven available is one I'm happy about. I made a coq au vin to break this in, and it turned out great. The lid is heavy and the 5.5 qt size is large enough to hold a medium-large chicken, but also small enough to fit in the refrigerator.
This is one item I will never have to replace/upgrade.
We bought the marseille blue in the store, and then returned it after ordering the classic orange online.

Le Creuset All The Way!!
November 12, 2012
Got the 5 1/2 Quart (in Dijon) and the 7 1/4 Quart (in Aubergine) and have used them both at least twice in the past 2 weeks alone.
If you have an issue lifting more than 15 lbs (consider pot with food, it is hot) just make sure that you have someone else around to help you do the heavy lifting! :)
Lamb stew, kalua pork, roasted chicken, clam chowder have all turned out great. Clean-up for me is easy; I let it sit in the sink with hot soapy water for 10 minutes before washing with a soft scour sponge (the green and yellow kind). I have not placed in dishwasher yet just because it is easy to clean in sink.
Heats up great - we have a gas stovetop and maintain consistent heat very well. Would STRONGLY recommend to anyone who loves to cook and appreciates splashes of color in their kitchen.
Difficult to store in our kitchen because we have so many gadgets and whatnot anyway - we need a bigger kitchen!
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Color, Size, Shape, Design
Cons: Difficult to Store

My favorite pot in my kitchen!
September 6, 2012
I had purchased the 7.5 qt. for our girls for Christmas and they loved theirs so much that I recently purchased the 5.5 qt. for our grandson and his bride and one for me!! I have made soups, chili, lasagna and the latest was hot wings for football Saturday. My husband said that they were the best ever! Loving my new addition to my kitchen!

The Only Option for Cooking
August 4, 2012
I've completely given up on using cookware made out of any other material than cast iron and this french oven only reinforces that decision. It's even and sustained heating cooks anything and everything in no time at even the lowest temperatures. The enamel interior helps keep food from sticking and makes cleanup much faster as compared to stainless steel pots I'd have to spend some time scraping clean.

WOW!!!!! Love it!!! My favorite Pot
July 10, 2012
The very best piece of cookware I have ever used. I use it at least once a week. I purchased the 71/4 quart pot. It is also the perfect size for pot roast , stew, beans, etc. I cannot say enough about it. I have used many brands of cookware, but until you try Le Creuset for yourself, you have not tried the best. It is a breeze to clean too! I was shocked that lowering the oven temperature to 275-300 and my roast was done to perfection an hour faster!! All I can say is WOW!! The best pot roast I have ever cooked!!!!!

Great Pot Roast Pan
July 9, 2012
Great pan for large family meals. I purchased the 7 1/2 qt. in my favorite color (turquoise) and am very pleased. The first time I made spaghetti sauce in it, the bottom was scorched even though I used the recommended medium to low temperature. Cleaning it was no problem though. Some of the scorch just lifted off when I rinsed out the pan, the rest easily lifted off with a plastic pancake turner. Would Definitely Recommend.

it doesn't get better than this!
July 6, 2012
Le Creuset is truly the best quality cookware you will ever find. From cooking pasta to slow roasting, my 9 and 4 1/2qt round ovens are my go-to pieces. Yes, they are pricey, but allow yourself to splurge and I promise, you won't regret it!

High Quality Product
June 27, 2012
This product is best suited for an individual who enjoys cooking and is looking for ways to improve his skills as a home chef. If you don't know what I am talking about your regular pots and pans are all you need. I categorize this product as a specialty item with endless versatility. The ability to put this product on the stove or oven with the lid on is truly exceptional. Even thorough cooking cannot be overstated. An excellent rice cooker. Instead of buying an entire high quality pots & pans set you could buy a Le Creuset.

Pricey but a fantastic pot!
June 5, 2012
Bought the 7.25 qt in Aubergine. Very pretty. I like the Le Creuset slightly better than my Staub pot as it is not quite as heavy as the Staub, and the Le Creuset seems a bit smoother and more polished around the edges. However, I don't think you can go wrong with choosing either brand. I expect the quality to hold up for future generations.

A GREAT Pot
March 25, 2012
OK ... it's VERY pricey ... but let me tell you, if you need a BIG pot for stove top cooking, this is the pot. On St. Patrick's Day, I cooked my usual corned beef. My husband had come home with one that was unusually large. I put it in my biggest round Dutch Oven (I think it's a 4-5 Qt. Le Creuset. Anyway, between the beef and the veg, there was very little space between the water level and the rim. I decided I'd had enough, so I ordered the big 9Qt. model. Tonight, I cooked corned beef again. THIS time, with a 5-1/2 pound piece of corned beef, I was able to cook the meat on a rack of celery, carrots, and onions; completely submerge the roast; AND finish it off with carrots, potatoes and onions added at a bit later time in the cooking process ... and NO boil over problems. I LOVE this pot!!! Even if I only use it a couple of times a year, it is worth the peace of mind and convenience. It's heavy, but it's worth it.

Don't Give Up!
Did you call the company and ask if you could exchange it? I did that with one of the pots I received. The smaller pot had a "spot" on the inside that looked like the enamel had not covered it completely. I wasn't satisfied with it and didn't want to use it, so I called Williams-Sonoma and they sent out another pot right away. They told me to keep the pot I had until the new one arrived and then I could return the first pot in the box. They paid for all the shipping, too. Their customer service is exceptional. As I stated in my review, I wish I had bought Le Creuset many years ago. I think you should try again. What are the chances that you will have the same problem? These pots are worth giving it a second chance.
