fatal crack despite care

Sorry to report this dish is not worth the price. I have treated it with care, only handwashing it after it cools completely, yet it has formed a fatal crack after only a few months. The bed of the dish has a crack that is apparent on top and bottom...only a matter of time before it breaks in half. Not worth the expense.

Great baking dish

I bought the 5x7 dish for cooking for just me and my husband. It's the first piece of Le Creuset bakeware I've bought, but I love it. Dishes bake evenly and accurately, and the clean-up has been surprisingly easy. I made a potato gratin in it and was sure that the blackened, melted cheese would never come off since it doesn't on my other dishes. But after a good soak, all I had to do was wipe it off. I was really impressed.

Had two....both cracked

Like the other reviewers, I have had a terrible experience with this product. I bought one a year ago and after a few months of use, it cracked in the oven. It was replaced for free by the retailer, but the replacement dish cracked as well.

I had this baking dish for maybe two months and used it a couple of times. The last time I used it I made a pot pie and as I was pouring the warm (not hot) mixture into the pan..I heard the crack! I have many Le Creuset products and feel that the quality is EXCELLENT, but I seriously believe that this product was defective...

Bought this piece to make a smaller portion of lasagna for me and the hubby. It came out beautifully! Perfect browning and clean up was easy! And it looks very pretty on my table as well.

I just love using this baking dish. I cooks evenly and the top browns perfectly. Also, the handles make it easy to take from the oven. Definitely a five star dish!

dont understand what happened

I made a casserole (it wasnt even frozen) and popped in my oven on 375 degrees to bake for 40 minutes....about 20 min into cooking I heard a pop and realized the dish had broken in half...what a mess! If the casserole had been frozen, I might understand it breaking even tho "freezer to oven" implies otherwise. It was the second time I had used the casserole too...Money down the drain

You should return it. Williams Sonoma is very good about returns. They should be able to at least give you a store credit.
