I received these as a gift and they were heavenly. Intensely fruity, very fresh, and delectable -- the best I have ever had. When my daughter lived in France, she and I made it our mission to find the best pate de fruit. My previous favorite has been from Bigot in Amboise (corner of Rue nationale and Rue Francois 1er). The Fauchon pate de fruit (which you can get at the "Buy Paris" duty free shop at Charles de Gaulle airport) is also excellent. However this La Maison du Chocolat pate de fruit is my new favorite.
Pros: Quality, Flavor, Great Gift

toothachingly sweet

the taste of real fruit is there but is masked by the overwhelming sweetness. I remember these fruit pates from years past and do not remember them being so sweet. Lots of little seeds in them. The initial taste is of fruit, the aftertaste is all sugar.
