La Cornue CornuFe Stove, Burgundy

From La Cornue, this appliance features the superb workmanship and styling that have distinguished the French company's stoves for nearly a century - but with one significant difference: it's available for shipment without the customary long wait. To accomplish this, each one is assembled using innovative new manufacturing technology, then finished by hand. The professional-style cooktop is configured with five powerful gas burners. Below it, two electric convection ovens feature French side-swing doors; one offers seven functions, including convection and conventional baking/roasting options as well as broiling and defrosting. Proportioned for use with standard 24" deep base cabinets, the stove can be adjusted in height. Four oven racks are included. Professional performance and classic style, scaled to suit the home kitchen. Three12,000 BTU burners, one 17,500 BTU center burner, one simmer burner adjustable from 600 BTU to 6,000 BTU. Two ovens with side-swing doors; one offers seven cooking modes. Choose from fittings in satin chrome or satin chrome with polished brass accents. 43" x 28 5/8" x 35 13/16" to 36 7/8" high. A propane conversion kit is included to convert from natural gas to propane. High-Altitude kit required for elevations above 5,000 feet (not included). White Glove Delivery - with a total charge of $1,300 - is required for this item. Our special service provides scheduled delivery, placement in the desired location within your home, unpacking and inspection with the removal of all packaging materials. Procedures for final assembly and installation, including standard gas and electrical connections, are outlined in the owner's manual. We recommend that you make arrangements for professional installation prior to delivery.

Don't believe the earlier reviews!!
October 10, 2011
Looking through the site, and can't believe these reviews. This is a REAL professional range, and truly the best part of my kitchen redo. I find the range a breeze to clean as the side panels pop out and go straight into the dishwasher. As far as the range surface, all I have had to do is take a damp sponge to any mess and up it comes- no scrubbing or additional cleaners. How easy is that? My use is heavy as well, as I prepare at least two meals a day on this baby.
I have had warranty service out once to replace an igniter on the burner and they could not have been more prompt or professional. Love the versatility of the two ovens and convection. Total class and makes a serious statement for SERIOUS cooks.
I entertain frequently, and this range has been up to everything I have ever tried. I have even gotten rid of a microwave, as the convection is so fast that I don't really need one anymore.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Power, Easy to Clean, Versatile

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

The best I can say is that the gas oven heats up really quickly...but cooks unevenly and I have to constantly turn items to cook evenly, made difficult by the fact that the shelves don't just slide out easily, so I actually put them in backwards to do so.
The electric oven preheats very slowly and the temperature is not constant, it seems to fluctuate by about 100 degrees, usually low, even though they've tried to calibrate it. The range top is so, so, once it lights. One side always takes at least two tries to get and stay lit. And if I'm cooking something like rice, that uses both high heat and low, you've got to fire up the French plates for the low cooking, a great feature if you've got multiple pots going, but a double waste of electricity for one pot
Pros: Durable, Design
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean, Temperamental

Racks and top burners
I have no problems sliding the racks in and out. Of course I had to look in the guide to learn the trick to doing so. Just pull out slightly and lift up. As for the problems with the burners, I really don't understand why you can't just lower the flame while cooking rice - that's the greatest thing gas has over electric burners, more control of the temp. I'm not sure what the French plates are - I don't have anything like this on my stove.

La Cornue CornuFé Stove does NOT have a gas oven and a French plate is not even an option. You're talking about something else entirely.

Don't buy the LeCornu Fe
September 7, 2010
We recently bought the Le Cornu Fe. We were so excited, but the stove did not work on day one. The ignitor was bad from the start. Contacted them for warranty repair and they knew what was the problem exactly. Referred me to one of their authorized repair places - who were less helpful than Cornufe. The ignitor component is in the back of the oven, so they want me to move the oven (weighs a ton) so they can replace the part. Obnoxious!!! I have to pay an appliance mover couple of hundred to move it. So much for paying thousands of dollars to get awful service like this. Don't buy this product, you won't get any support.
