Oops! I bought the sweeper blade
May 1, 2013
I have owned this mixer for more than a years. Actually I have 3 Kitchen Aid Stand mixers. That should say what I think of the product. I ordered the mixer blade with the added rubber sweep for the 7 quart. I think that's what they wanted me to review. It works great as my others do on my smaller mixers-4 1/2 and 6 quart mixers. It just completes the job of mixing by incorporating all the ingredients without having to stop and scrap down the sides. Imagine how a simple added feature can make these mixers even better. Buy one if you don't have this blade with your Stand mixer. It's so worth it.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Speed, Design

have now purchased two of these
April 24, 2013
Several months ago I purchased a candy apple red 7-qt.Pro LIne Kitchen Aid mixer for myself. It is amazing, so much so that I bought the medallion silver one for my daughter who has 4 children. The larger capacity size is perfect for her family. She replaced her old,(30 years) past down from her grandmother with this shiny new beauty. She loves it.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Power, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Speed, Versatile, Quiet, Design
Cons: it's heavy

Great for multiple batches!
March 13, 2013
I have owned a 5 qt KA for over 25 years and it still works great. I bought this to handle larger batches because I like to make double batches of baked goods so I can freeze one and serve one. I was concerned about the bowl lift model because I am used to the tilt head - it has not been a problem. This machine handles triple batches of heavy cookie dough without bogging down and mulltiple batches of yeast breads and rolls. I LOVE it! It is quieter and more powerful than my old one. I can spend less time by mixing multiple batches at once. I did purchase the flex edge beater and it is MARVELOUS! I am surprised by the few bad reviews, and wonder if their machine is somehow a lemon. I have had no problems, it is handling everything I throw at it.
Please sell extra bowls with plastic tight fitting lids so I can chill doughs in the fridge while mixing the next thing.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Power, Easy to Clean, Size, Speed, Quiet, Design
Cons: want more accessories

Not a pro mixer
February 26, 2013
Beautiful machine, but: This is advertised as a "pro" mixer so i am comparing it to "pro" mixers of the same size: here, the dough spiral attachment has a sticker on it which tells you to limit the speed with it to "2", which is a slow movement. I wanted to use this for bread where the "improved" mixing method calls for slow and then medium mixing speed, and when I increased the speed with the spiral attachment over "2", the mixer started to make funny noises. I know that they tell you not to use it over "2" so probably I would be voiding the warranty. But then, this mixer is not really useable for my application, and certainly NOT a "pro" mixer!
Pros: Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Design
Cons: Speed, Power, Fragile, not for bread dough mixing!

Miss our K5 artisan
February 22, 2013
Yes it's big and beautiful, the motor quiet and powerful, and makes a statement on your countertop. The bad news is if you put a heavy batch of dough in it the bowl constantly pops off. We got this as a gift and were thrilled. Sold our old 5qt artisan since we had no use for it. Mistake. The locking bowl is much better than the lift bowl. I use it mainly for pizza dough and cannot walk away from it for a minute. Once the dough ball forms it causes the bowl to jump. I never run it above speed 2 either. I have to hold the bowl in place for 10-15 minutes while I should be able to walk away for that time. Im still considering returning it for another 5 qt model.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Power, Speed, Quiet, Design
Cons: Temperamental, Difficult to Store, bowl hops off

Wonderful Mixer
February 8, 2013
Bought this as a gift for friends who had an old Kitchen Aid that still worked great, but is much smaller. In addition to all the other items they use their mixer for, they make bread every week and no longer need to knead large portions by hand. All their attachments for their old mixer work on this one. I'm thrilled they love it and I know they will be using it forever. Very happy...

Never again
January 24, 2013
It is with great sadness that I am writing this review regarding my 7-Qt mixer. In 2 yrs. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED 3TIMES with the same problem. Works great initially, then the scratching loud noise starts after several uses.
14 yrs. ago I purchased the 5.5-Qt and NEVER had a problem and the only reason I decided to purchase the 7-Qt was because of size and power ( great size for double batch). Kitchen Aid does offer great service, after I report the problem they FedEx a new mixer with prepaid return label for the broken one. I have had the last one since November 2012 (2 months) and am hoping that by now they have improved this product.
Best of luck to everybody that owns one!!!

Couldn't resist buying!
January 12, 2013
I have owned a KA 5 qt. mixer for about 10 years. Completely happy with it and its still working fine. I considered purchasing a new machine 2 years ago but the reviews on other websites put me off. There were many complaints that the KA's were not made with metal gears anymore and were therefore less reliable. Since my 5 qt. was plugging along just fine I decided to wait and see. Not the case with the newer 7 qt. mixer. KitchenAid guarantees metal gears thru-out and has a 2 year warranty on this model. Now that's standing behind the product.
Have used this a few times and notice it is quieter than my old model. The bowl is huge compared to my 5 qt. so I'm getting used to it. My concerns that it might be too large to handle my regular cookie and cake recipes seems to be unfounded. I can easily double my recipes if I need to, but don't have to. I'm a happy camper so far! I vascillated between the Candy Apple Red and the Medallion Silver. Finally chose the Silver.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Power, Size, Design

Nice mixer but ..
January 1, 2013
I had a 6 quart KitchenAid but wanted something bigger. It handled 10 cups of flour but I feel that I could see the bowl flexing as the dough hook moves around. I just wonder how long before something wears out or cracks. It is quieter then the 6Qt.
Pros: Power, Easy to Clean, Size, Quiet
Cons: Quality

Sorry for the bad review
December 28, 2012
I have 2 K5s and love them. Wanted more bowl space. On bread or anything heavy this mixer was horrible. Bowl keeps popping out and the entire mixer shakes like it will fall apart. I expected the same quality as my K5.
Pros: Size, Quiet
Cons: Quality, Temperamental, Fragile

i think i can help solve your issue
a few years ago I got the 7 qt stand mixer and hauled it back to my Williams Sonoma store for the same reasons you stated above. At the store they showed me that I needed to lock the bowl in place by firmly pressing it down in the back. It sort of locks into place. Has worked great ever since! Hopefully this will solve your problem as well.

KA Pro-Line 7Qt Cranberry-Red is a Great Mixer
December 26, 2012
I could not wait after Dec 26th for the delivery, so I went to my local Mall and purchased this item. (2 left in inventory). The flex-edge beater/paddle is lighter weight than the regular paddle that is included. I have used both the flex edge and the standard beater. For lighter weight batters(i.e muffins with cranberries, oatmeal cookies with raisins),For heavier batters (i.e. Oatmeal monster cookies, lemon bars etc) the standard paddle was used. I have also used the dough hook making Roasted Garlic potato bread. All ingredients mixed thoroughly and consistently. The only drawback I have is the Bowl Supports on each side could be designed not to vibrate/shake when mixing heavier doughs. Key to any mixer whether it is Planetary or Spiral, you do have to start in a slow setting to begin a heavy weight recipe.
I wish the Flex-Edge Paddle was stainless Steel and as heavy as the standard paddle that is included and as soon as Kitchen Aid distributes more accessories for the 7QT.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Power, Easy to Clean, Size, Speed, Versatile, Quiet, Design, Assembly

LOVE IT!!!!
December 26, 2012
I purchased this mixer for my church's kitchen. It is now at the top of my personal wish list! The only issue I have had is getting the bowl lined up correctly so that it will click in place. However, I'm sure that will get easier with time.

Just get yourself a KitchenAid mixer!
December 26, 2012
Bought my 6qt 10 yrs ago. Used it 2 or 3 times a week. Loved it! 6qt was noisy, but I didn't care. Used for: pies, cookies, bread, icecream, pasta, mashed potatoes, and orange juice. Now, I have the 7qt. It's wonderful!! Surprisingly quieter! Plus, it cuts through cold butter better. Doesn't say, but it DOES come with the pour shield which is so nice! Pour shield is now one piece which is even nicer. All old 6qt attachments fit the new 7qt model including bowl! Also, 7qt comes with a 5 year warranty!!! I know I sound like a sales person, but I did my homework before purchasing. It's not just something beautiful that sits on my counter, I totally use and am completely in love with my KitchenAid mixer!!!!

Powerful & Issue Free
December 26, 2012
Strong machine with no issues. I have owned this for several years now and still like brand new with no problems. I love to bake so it is used often (3-4 times a week) and still no complaints. Love this machine... a bakers must have. Only thing to take into consideration is the fact it is a heavy machine. Put it in one spot and don't expect to move it around.

Excellent but
December 25, 2012
The mixer needed adjustment for the blade as it was too high and left too much on the bottom of the bowl. Other than that it sounds better than my old KitchenAid mixer as it was under powdered.

Cons: adjustment required

I opened the box,and I felt in love with the candy apple red 7 qtr mixer but when I made bread I hear a clicking sound and I can not remove the dough hook. I am going to send it back and get another one. I heard some one else has the same clicking sound. This is my third kitchen aid mixer all the other ones work like a charm but I wanted more power and a bigger bowl.

My go to kitchen gadget
December 12, 2012
I wanted one of these for so long and I finally got it during a Thanksgiving sale. So far I've made pizza dough, banana bread and 2 pies. I don't know what I did without one of these for so long. I love the extra power this model has over the other models. I tried my mother inlaw'sand it's nice but for larger amounts or dense dough this one is a tad better.
