KAI for Williams-Sonoma Santoku Knife

This color-coded knife series is made exclusively for Williams-Sonoma by Kai, one of Japan's largest and most historic cutlery companies. This santoku knife adds precision to food prep combined with super-sharp performance, lightweight handling and easy dishwasher cleaning. The Asian-style santoku works well for any job for which you would use a chef's knife, yet the shorter length and blade design make it highly maneuverable. The hollow-ground blade releases food easily, making for quick work when cutting vegetables. All-purpose, easy-to-use Asian-inspired kitchen knife. Hollow-ground indentations in the blade help food release more quickly. Food-safe nonstick coating on blade is corrosion-resistant and speeds slicing and cleanup. Lightweight molded resin handle is contoured for a secure grip. Color-coded knives in this collection help prevent cross-contamination. Includes protective sheath for storage.

I ONLY bought this knife because it was cheap and so i wouldn't feel bad if someone stole it (I am a college student living with room mates) but when i got it home it sliced apples paper thin, cut pork tenderloin to fine slices, minced, and diced veggies, glided through iceberg lettuce and went above and beyond my expectations.. AND its a pretty slick looking knife! the drop point santoku style blade made cutting way easier while the 7" blade length was highly maneuverable and easy to handle while not being too much or too little to work with. speaking of handles, the plastic handle was easy to grip and fit well in my hand (big hands). HOWEVER when I tried cutting a tomato the cut was uneven and didn't handle the skin very well, otherwise the knife for the price is wonderful and I will give an update as to how fast it dulls since i only just bought it a week ago. excellent choice for a college wannabe chef ;)
Pros: Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Versatile, Sharpness, Shape, perfect go-to, affordable, stylish
Cons: Weight, plastic handle
