Joseph Bentley Long-Handle Fork

Solid ash and stainless-steel construction ensure that this fork will provide years of rugged and reliable service in the garden. Pairing an extra-long handle with a narrow, long-tined head, it promotes good leverage (and better posture) and fits handily into smaller raised beds. Rolled tines enhance the fork's strength and resistance to breakage. Small treads on top of the fork let you use your foot for leverage. Polished stainless-steel fork resists rust. Solid ash wood handle. 5 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 3' 3 3/4" long overall. 3.3 lb. Designed by Joseph Bentley, a horticultural tool company founded in Sheffield, England, in 1895.

I treated myself
June 7, 2014
I was feeling bad one day and normally wouldn't have purchased such a high-end tool but decided to treat myself. The fork is not only beautiful but also works great. I use it to loosen soil and it proved invaluable in removing the roots of a volunteer tree that was growning in a bed that I wanted to use for veggies.
Pros: Easy to Clean, Size, Appearance, Design, Weight
Cons: one of the tines bent a little removing a root., you need to be careful & not leave out in the rain

New Favorite Tool
October 2, 2012
I needed a small fork for working the soil between plants and this is perfect. No more worry about disturbing the roots of perennials while digging for the nasty weeds. The stainless steel tines are a big bonus. The soil slides right off them. No more clumps to push off with gloved fingers. Does the job and cleans up easily when the job it done. Love it!!
Pros: good size for small gardens, sized for a woman's hands, Easy to Clean

My Mother's New Favorite Garden Tool
May 17, 2012
I bought this for my mother for Mother's Day. She has been wanting a pitchfork to turn her compost heap and for use in her raised garden beds, but everything she found was too unwieldy and cumbersome. Joseph Bentley's Long-Handle Fork is perfect. It's has a nice weight to it, so you know it is high-quality and will not bend when you go to use it. But it is not too heavy or too long. Perfect size, weight, everything. Extremely well made with real, sturdy wood, and stainless steel. Not to mention it is absolutely gorgeous. In her words: "This is a lifetime tool. Perfect." She has already decided that the wants the Joseph Bentley spade next!
Pros: sturdy, high-quality, well-made, beautiful, stainless steel, real wood, great size, Easy to Use
