Our classic pedestal bowl offers all sorts of artistic possibilities - fill it with everything from fresh fruit to pine cones or found objects. We've combined a turned mango wood base with a willow basketry bowl, expertly handwoven by island artisans. Very disaapointting

I purchased this on sale and, as such, it is not returnable. The wooden base is split 1/8" up to 1/4". The crack is not from shipping or handling. it is either from the wood reacting to changes in temp or humidity or possibly pressure when being made. I can still use it but will need to cover the split. While it was on sale it was not in expensive. I expect better from WS. Be cautious of buying items on sale from WS on line.

This bowl is beautiful and constructed well. I am using it as a fruit bowl right now but I think it is versatile enough to use for almost anything!
