These whimsical British confections come to us from English-born purveyor Fiona Frie, who opened her San Francisco shop when she became homesick for the nostalgic sweets of her childhood. Our assortment is a wonderful excuse to create a tantalizing "candy bar" for holiday parties. Each variety of candy arrives in a vintage-style glass jar with metal lid, perfect for gift-giving. Champagne Bubbles, a sweet celebration of festive champagne fizz, 14 oz. Cinnamon Balls, hard candies with a blazing bite of cinnamon spice; 14.5 oz. Colorful Licorice Bits, bite-size licorice bits with vibrant fruit flavors; 12 oz. Gummy Flowers, chewy candies bursting with tangy fruit flavors; 12.5 oz. I find these candies not at all as advertised. They taste stale, are hard and sour, or they have no taste at all. I bought 4 flavors and offered them to my friends to taste and they would not eat them either. They really should not sell these candies.

Like a gummy candy covered in little ball sprinkles! Yummy! Their lollipops are full of flavor like old fashioned candy. My toddler granddaughter loves them so much she knows where I keep them and goes straight to them when she arrives. Fiona's candies will have to be an Easter tradition! Bonus...jars so cute you could use them anywhere to hold things or as vase for flowers.

I first ordered Fiona's candies in Dec. 2011. I gave some as gifts and was so impressed by the quality, flavor & freshness of the product. I reordered in Dec. 2012. SO DISAPPOINTED! I ordered 2 Strawberry Puffs, 1 Red Berry Blocks, and Gummy Circus Circles. All were below the quality of my first order. The red berry blocks were so hard and chewy, I gave them to my neighbor's grandson. I returned one unopened Strawberry Puff after my friend reported to me how stale and chewy they were. Embarassing! The Circus Gummies were chewy and tasteless. For $12.99 a jar they are not worth it.The gummies I buy in the supermarket for $3.00 are far superior.

Very Disappointing

I ordered three types of the gummy candies, and I am very disappointed in each one. The champagne bubbles are pretty, but taste only vaguely fruity. The strawberry puffs have a nice marshmallow layer, but these, too, taste artificial. The berry blocks are the worst, tasting strongly of citric acid and artificial flavor. I known I shouldn't have expected pates de fruits, but for $12.95 a jar, I expect something better than this! The packaging is very pretty, but the candy doesn't taste good and leaves a weird aftertaste in the mouth.

Tasty yet...

I received my lemon and root beer flavors today and am quite dismayed to discover they both have artificial flavors. Frankly, I expected more of both the purveyor and Williams-Sonoma. There was nothing about the description that indicated artiicial colors or ingredients yet they are present in the products.
The taste is pretty good but I cannot recommend a product that is based on a flavor that CAN be used naturally in candy.

This "Old Fashioned" candy is the way things were made years ago. The glass jars they come in are reminiscent of a time gone by, very classy!

Sent the "sneakers in a jar" to a young man at college with the idea that he would eat candy quickly (as usual) and reuse the very nice quality silver-topped jar.... BUT he said the candy is amazing, so he is eating it slowly and savoring it!
This is quality from start to finish. Can't wait to try more varieties.

I have the Strawberry Puffs and they are absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try other flavors.

I bought the blue bottles for myself, they were spectacular. Would definitely recommend them. Try maybe for a party dish and they would be a big hit. Also are popular for birthday gifts, so addictive you can't put them down! They are a little expensive, but the novelty glass jar is definitely reusable and makes a nice keepsake.

Root beer drops

My kids love root beer barrels, so when I saw these I knew we had to try them. They LOVE these candies. The jar is small, but it's lasted a long time. Excellent root beer drops.

I have tried the lemon sherberts which my kids and I LOVED hands down. Personally, my favorite was the champagne bubbles gumdrops and the strawberry puffs where good if you like a artificial strawberry flavor. I'm pretty picky about what my kids get in the way of candy and while I'm not loving some of the ingredients in some of these at least I can find out what is in them and choose from there. The quality of the candy cannot be beat it is really lovely.

I ordered several varieties and was extremely pleased with all of them. My favorite was the Lemon Sherbert candies--love the tart center. The Black Currant balls were also very delicious! Will have to try other varieties in the future.

worth the price

I have only tried a couple flavors (I love the blue bottles!), but I would definitely recommend these even if just for the jars. I have filled mine with chocolate chips and dried fruit, and they look great sitting on my shelves. If you are thinking about trying one, do it!
