Finishing Sauces

Our finishing sauces are prepared by slowly simmering wine with stock and spices to create rich, complex flavor. Simply heat the sauce and drizzle over prepared meats and vegetables to create elegant dinner-party fare or an impressive weeknight meal. Prepared with high-quality all-natural ingredients. Champagne is a delicate French-inspired reduction made from Champagne, onions, garlic and thyme. Piccata is a rich Italiain-inspired reduction made of white Burgundy wine, capers and lemon juice. Black currant combines Burgundy wine, shallots, chicken stock and fruity, tart black currants. Marsala contains beef broth, herbs, spices and oak-aged Marsala, a sweet and fragrant fortified wine made only on Sicily's west coast. Truffle combines Burgundy wine, shallots, chicken stock and demi-glace, French black truffles and aromatic truffle oil. Wild mushroom features wild porcini and cremini mushrooms slow-simmered with Burgundy wine, shallots and chicken stock. Bordelaise is a classic French sauce of shallots, Burgundy wine and chicken stock. Simply heat the sauce and drizzle it over roasted or sauteed meats, poultry, seafood or vegetables. 12 oz. Made in USA. A Williams-Sonoma exclusive.

Perfect and easy to use
June 15, 2013
We have used all of these products. My favorite is the piccata which I think is excellent! I brown floured chicken breasts, and thin lemon slices in butter & olive oil, set them aside, stir the sauce into the the pan and add lemon juice to taste stir until heated and then put the chicken back in the pan, add capers and cook until the meat is done. We serve over good Italian pasta. It makes a great quick and easy meal for unexpected guests.
Pros: Easy to Prepare, Quality, Good for Entertaining, Time-saver, Flavor

Didn't Enjoy
March 24, 2013
Always hesitate to critique food because taste is such a personal preference but I found the Marsala Finishing Sauce bitter. I tasted it before using (perhaps my mistake) because I didn't want to ruin my food. I purchased it because I was in the store and wasn't going to the liquor store in the near future. I didn't enjoy it and because a pan sauce is so easy to make I wouldn't buy it again. If you can't find Marsala locally it may be a good option, however.
Pros: Time-saver
Cons: Flavor

love the Picatta and Marsala
January 4, 2013
I've reordered the Marsala and Picatta many times. Great sauces. Perfect for a quick dinner drizzled over chicken. I also toss with grilled vegetables and brown rice for an easy lunch to take to work. Tried the Yuzu, and not as crazy about that one.
Pros: Easy to Prepare, Authentic, Quality, Good for Entertaining, Time-saver, Flavor

Finishing sauces
December 1, 2012
First, W&S doesn't seem to have recipes for the finishing sauces other than brief suggestions on the bottle. I have the Marsala, Black Current and Bordelaise. I followed the Black current instructions with pork tenderloin and the result was too strong of a flavor bordering on vinegar taste. Can't comment on the other two since the Black Current scared me off. These are too expensive to have the poor results that I had.
Cons: Disappointing, Flavor, need w&s to include more recipes on using product.

Excellent Sauces!
October 30, 2012
We tried he Truffle sauce (our favorite) with beef and the Champagne sauce with chicken and both were excellent. It was so easy and worth every penny! You could use either sauce for any meat. We're definitely going to try the sauces with fish and pork.
Pros: Easy to Prepare, Good for Entertaining, Time-saver, Flavor, Great Gift

OUTSTANDING!
March 7, 2012
I purchased the Bordelaise to serve with a filet mignon roast at Christmas--EXCELLENT! Could NEVER have made this wonderful sauce myself! The bottle seems small--BUT it actually yields A LOT, and lasted MORE than 20 servings of Filet! Worth EVERY penny!

Wonderful sauce
February 23, 2012
Just finished the wonderful WS pork recipe with the Marsala finishing sauce. My husband and daughter LOVED it, I loved that it was so easy (although I enjoy cooking) and the meal was a huge success. The Meyer Lemon sauce is also a sensational recipe. These sauces do not have to be tweaked in any way, but then we're talking Williams-Sonoma. Thanks WS you came through again as always!

I'm now a fan of Chicken Marsala
February 13, 2012
This dish really never grabbed me... until I tasted this finishing sauce. Forget just chicken -- I tried it on my ribeye with grilled mushrooms and onions. I even squirted some on my udon noodles with roast pork in a scallion sauce. What intensity of flavors!! I need to try the rest! Cannot wait to try it with tempura shrimp and halibut!

The very best
December 24, 2011
I sauté some minced shallots in butter and olive oil with a little flour, then add mushrooms and continue sautéing for 5 minutes before adding a cup of the Marsala finishing sauce and half a cup of half n half. Spoon it over chicken and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. Unbelievably good!

Marsala finishing sauce
April 26, 2011
This is a WONDERFUL product! I make such sauces from scratch, but this is even better. Full-bodied, not salty.
I also love the fig sauce, but apparently that is no longer available.

Simply the best
April 26, 2011
Which ever Finishing Sauce you use, you can't go wrong. I especially love the Truffle. It adds such depth of flavor to any gravy, drizzle over meat as is for a great, great glaze, or add to any of the braising sauces for an added boost of flavor.

Truffle Finishing Sauce
February 25, 2011
I am a scratch cook and make my own stocks, preserves, syrups, and when I am able to (full time job and a disabled child) homemade bread and rolls. I seldom purchase prepared anything and usually end up throwing out any bottled sauce or dressing I try. This sauce is unbelievably delicious. I served it over sliced chataubriand on potato cakes and my husband declared it one of the best meals he has ever eaten. Despite the cost, I will be ordering at least 4 more bottles and will sample the other flavors.

Truffles Finishing Sauce
February 15, 2011
I have used this in many of my sauces. I sauted shallots, garlic added some homemade beef broth, then added the finishing sauce. I've also used it in a sauce for Beef Wellington.

miracle sauce
October 5, 2010
After trying the marsala finishing sauce I was so amazed I had to go back and purchase one of each kind of sauce available. The marsala is absolutely amazing with no after taste. No need to go out to a pricey restaurant when I can make my own tasty dishes.
Thank u W-S!

Love the Black Current Sauce
June 25, 2010
Really has a nice sweet flavor of the black current and melds with the beef fillet that we used it on.
