Emile Henry Artisan Mixing Bowl Set

Our bowls are handcrafted by Emile Henry, the venerable French company that has been producing fine-quality culinary ceramics since 1850. They're part of our exclusive Auberge collection, inspired by antique kitchenware from French country inns. Earthenware bowls shaped from French Burgundian clay. Extremely hard glaze finish withstands scratches, chips, cracks and fading; can be used with electric beaters. Heavyweight bowl stays in place while mixing. Nest for compact storage. Can also be used as serving bowls. Microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe. Set of three bowls from 1 3/4- to 5 3/4-qt. capacity. A Williams-Sonoma exclusive.

Beautiful functional bowls

The Artisan line appeals to me and I knew I wanted deep bowls that didn't flare out at the top. They are a bit thinner than I expected, but feel very sturdy and the weight is right in the middle I'd say. These can definitely hold their own on a table if used as serving bowls. Everyone that has seen them comments on how pretty they are. If they get another color in stock I will buy another set. As far as price I'd like to point out a very popular website teamed up with a Southern magazine and have a set that replicates almost exactly my grandmother's large bowl I have. They wanted exactly twice as much for their set of three bowls. This is a fair price for the quality. One other small thing is the glaze covers the inside and outside of the bowls completely, but the bottom of the bowls are not glazed. Because of this I let them dry out on the bottom before I will stack them inside each other.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Versatile, Design
