After reading previous reviews, I decided to purchase this pan (sale price was also convincing.) I watched a Rachel R. video to get the technique. I filled my first batch with fresh strawberries and served with whipped cream and syrup. So yummy and the grandchildren will love them.

Love the new kitchen addition

I was on the fence buying this but I love mini donuts restaurants serve for dessert so I convinced myself I can make them using this. I'm glad I did. I just made cinnamon sugar ebelskivers. Wow.....they are good. The pan is very easy to clean since it's nonstick. I used chopsticks to turn them over. I will definitely make other flavor ebelskivers with this pan.

This was purchased as a gift. It was used shortly after it was received and photos of the ebelskivers were emailed to me. They looked exactly like the professionally baked product. It was very favorably received, and recipients declared it would be getting a lot of use.

This pan is great and so much fun to use! I made the Blueberry pancake recipe on this site and they turned out fantastic! So yummy. Keep in mind that practice makes perfect with these little guys! :)

Wonderful ebelskivers!

There's a danish town called Solvang in CA where as a child my family & I always enjoyed warm ebelskivers dusted with powdered sugar and served with jam. Imagine how pleased I was to find this pan so i could once again enjoy them, and from afar! This pan is easy to clean, cooks uniformly on your stove top (we have a gas range), and stores as easily as a small skillet. We use whatever pancake mix we have on hand. We often will fill the wells in the pan halfway, add a few chocolate chips, then add more batter so the ebelskivers have a 'secret middle'. They cook quickly. Using 2 wooden skewers works great for turning them. We bought the pancake pen to fill the wells & it works great! I'm a happy customer!

Great buy for our kitchen

it was one of the best tool I bought to add on more fun in the kitchen! Now our whole family (and often guests during weekends) enjoy the ebelskiver for breakfast regularly. I also use this pan to make different variety of sweet and savory asian flavor food! Just be creative and have fun with different ingredients! This pan is very easy to clean with non-stick surface. So even I accidentally burn some food I just wipe it off with paper towels. We love it!

Lovely filled pancakes

I received this pan as a gift and I am so happy to have such a good friend! This pan is amazing! I don't like normal pancakes anymore. I have the pancake pen, the turning tool and the cookbook as well. I love all of the different filling combinations possible with this pan. My husband likes nutella in his and I like jelly. But, we both love the Cinnamon-Bun recipe from W-S. This is a great pan and a joy on a Saturday morning!

So easy to use and so yummy!

Just recently purchased this and I have been very happy with the results. We made yummy Cinnamon Sugar Filled ones, bacon and cheese, spiced apples, and nutella. Each one came out great!
My kids love pancakes and we always buy the Krusteaz buttermilk pancake mix (add water only) in bulk. Since I had this on hand, I used it and it came out wonderful with this pan! So easy, so fast, and so good!
Just like the video suggests, I used my pastry brush to brush on some butter in the pan. But what made everything really easy was using my small cookie scoop to fill it. Everything was uniform in size and not messy at all! Also just used regular bamboo skewers to turn them (a lot easier than I thought!)
I'm really excited to try other fillings (both sweet and savory). There possibilities are endless!

Best housewarming gift

I would never have bought this for myself because I don't even like pancakes, but I received this plus the cookbook and sticks for a housewarming gift and my boyfriend and I have been using it every day since! With pancake mix it is just so easy and fun. You don't need to be an experienced cook to do it. I recommend this as a gift for anyone!

When I purchased this unusual pan I had no idea how much fun it is to make Ebelskiver for Breakfast or Dessert. Guests ebjoyed this so much that it has become a tradition in our house. I recommend getting the cookbook as well to allow for creativity, after 3 days my Pantry runs out of ideas!

We loved this pan! My "Little Chef" wanted to help. I had to tell him next time because I was perfecting my technique and finding the exact temperature on my stove. They really are easy to make and do not take much time at all. We shared them with the neighbors and they called to ask when we were making more because their grand kids devoured them. The pan releases easy when sprayed. (The instructions called for butter in each cup) I can't wait to try another filling. I can see us using this a lot since my boys just started summer vacation.

My mom is Danish, so we grew up eating aebleskiver. I continued this tradition and have some happy memories of my son and his friends in line at the stove where I'd have two or three pans going at a time. As I handed them a full plate, they would return to the back of the line and by the time they had made 3 trips (often more), their plates were empty and tummies full.
Recently, I was happy to find this pan to add to my collection. I like the non-stick coating, it is lighter than my other cast iron pans, and it conducts heat very well. I didn't bother purchasing the wooden turning tool. Instead, I have a size 2 knitting needle that works perfectly. My favorite filling is a chunk of apple and after baking, we shake them in a paper bag filled with a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Now, my son is grown but I’m looking forward to sharing this tradition with my grandchildren someday.

I love this pan, and I do love the results, but I do not love what a big mess you have to make! I am not an inexperienced cook/baker. I have been doing so for over 30 years, but who wants to use SO many kitchen items to make one thing?
The results are wonderful, however. I would say that I would like it if one could do with a bit less puffiness so they would have more substance. My expectation when I purchased this pan was a denser product. Does anyone out there have any recipes that do not depend on the egg whites?
All in all, I do think it's a great product. You will just have to figure out the temperature setting to get a consistently good result. I do NOT recommend the turning tool, however. They are too thick and are difficult to use. Use wooden skewers instead. The recipe book is great, and I would highly recommend that for versatility.

Alternative batters
I tried making the batter from scratch and my egg whites were an utter failure. Since then I use various pancake/waffle mixes. Two winners for us are Golden Malts and Krusteaz Belgian waffle mix. I suspect using a different kind of batter will give you the density you're familiar with. Good Luck!

I love these filled pancakes! They are a big hit with my 3- and 5-year old as well! I highly recommend the wooden tool they sell to go with it, as it makes it easy to turn over without having to worry about scratching the surface. I have made them with various fruit preserves, chocolate chips, fresh bananas, nutella (our favorite!) and it is delicious all these ways. If you are good at making pancakes, you can make an ebelskiver!
I have bought this as a housewarming gift with the the premade mix and wooden tool and it makes a great gift set.

Fun little breakfast or snack

I was surfing around the W-S website and stubbled upon this item. I did a little research and took the plunge. This is a very good quality pan and I feel like I've "mastered" the Ebelskivers after just two tries (I filled them with ready made apple pie filling with some cinnamon added). The kids and adults LOVED them! More work than pancakes, obviously, but not much more. Fun to make!
I have a hunch these might become a popular item ...
One note: Make sure you use something like wood or plastic to flip them. The first time I used the pan I quickly grabbed some metal shish kabob skewers and made a couple of minor scratches on the non-stick surface. I now use plastic forks to turn the little pies.

Fun and easy

I bought this to make pancakes for the kids and with the right tools it is easy. I would recommend buying the wooden turners and also buying a pancake squeeze bottle to put your batter in which makes filling the form much easier. I used the recipe that came with the Ebelskiver and it was very good. I did order the two pancake mixes as well.

Ebelskivers--The FUN Pancake!

We just love our ebelskiver pan. It makes light, fluffy, filled pancakes that keep us coming back for more. I also recommend the Ebelskivers cookbook that Williams-Sonoma offers. There are different batters and many different kinds of ebelskivers to make. Most of all, it's just FUN to make them and DELICIOUS to eat them!

This is one of my favorite things. We entertain kids all the time and ebelskivers are definitely a favorite at our house. My kids friends ask for them every time they spend the night. Although it's a little time consuming to make these wonderful filled pancake puffs, they are well worth the effort. The kids request their fillings and off I go to make them. I now own two pans, because one pan just doesn't make enough when I'm entertaining 4 or 5 boys. This way I can make 14 at a time. They'll put away 70 + in no time!! The pan is easy to use, but you definitely need to buy the ebelskiver turners that they recommend so that you don't scratch up your pan. And, any pancake batter will do. We fill ours with chocolate chips, maple syrup and different flavored jellies. Then sprinkle them with powdered sugar. Thanks Williams Sonoma. We love our ebelskivers!!
