Dorset Martini Mixer

Named for the picturesque county on England's southern coast, this hand-blown 24% lead-crystal pitcher catches and reflects light, thanks to its hand-cut fluting. Notable for its brilliant clarity and superb balance, the vessel and its matching stirrer give a sparkling presentation to Manhattans, martinis and other classic gin or whisky drinks. Crafted of hand-blown, hand-cut 24% lead crystal. Dishwasher safe. Produced at a Slovenian glassworks founded in 1927.

More a Work of Art than a Workhorse

My husband gave me this mixer for my birthday I think 2 years ago. It is gorgeous! Altho I am an avid mixologist, I must confess to never using this to actually make cocktails. First, it is quite heavy and a bit unwieldy for pouring. Second, it is crazy expensive and I don't want to chip it. And third, speaking of chips, I sure do not want to use a glass rod to stir my cocktails and unknowingly serve my guests glass chips in their drinks. As I am also an avid collector of vintage and unusual cocktail glasses, this gorgeous mixer looks beautiful in my bar hutch, so there it stays as an objet d'art.
It is a stunning piece that would make a generous gift for a mixologist or glass collector, but not really a practical piece for regular use.
Pros: Quality, Appearance, Design
Cons: Not Durable, Weight, Fragile
