Great for bushy herbs
March 14, 2013
This herb keeper works great for bushier herbs like cilantro, parsley, and dill. It gives them plenty of room to spread out for air to pass through. It’s a little larger in person than its description, but it still fits on our refrigerator door. The center of the cylinder is tapered in making it easier to hold. However, that also makes it a little awkward when placing and removing herbs. Because of the small inner cup, it takes a little coordination to keep the herbs in place when removing bushy herbs for use. If the cup was taller, they wouldn't fall out.
I have both the Cuisipro Herb Keeper and the Herb Saver offered by William Sonoma. I love them both, but for different herbs. I like the Cuisipro Herb Keeper is great for the bushier herbs I mentioned and green onions. I like the Herb Saver for Thyme, sage, green onions, and oregano. However, water in the refrigerator is too cold for basil; it does better on the counter.
Pros: Quality, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store
Cons: herbs fall out easy when using
