Quick meals and I love it

I received this as a gift last Christmas and I LOVE IT! Can you say fast one pan meal? I can make dinner in 15 minutes with this...much faster than a crock pot. This electric version is much safer than the old school stovetop version. I'm not afraid to use it.

I have been interested in trying out a pressure cooker for some time. I got a WS gift certificate for Christmas and choose the Cuisinart Electric Pressure cooker. I LOVE it. Easy to use; has added a whole new dimension to my cooking; clean up is a breeze; meat is tender and beans are super easy to fix. I had an issue with my first one, WS made an exchange ASAP. LOVE my new cooking toy and LOVE WS customer service!!! I've told ALL my friends to get one!

Everything Old is New Again

I am one of those who stayed away from pressure cookers due to fear. Then I came across a dynamite recipe for honey glazed spareribs that required cooking in a pressure cooker. Timing was right as this model has recently been added to William-
Sonoma. Fear no more - this is a fantastic and easy device to use thanks to Cuisineart's engineering. I will be doing a whole lot of cooking using this pressure cooker. As an aside It would be helpful if Cuisinart created a video on their site for setup and operation of this device.

Fast, Easy and Delicious meals for my family!!

I hated coming home from work late afternoon/early evening trying to figure out dinner other than the same old boring stuff. Since we have gotten this cooker, we used it several times for soups and stews in WAY less time than the traditional method of simmering on the stove all day (who has time for that or is even home to do this anymore??) Using it again tonight for home-made clam chowder!!!!!

Big MIstake

I used 3 times and it went to trash. First time it worked. Second time, after several problem solving, it worked. Third time,after several problem solving. it did not work. Manual is very poor, pictures are a guessing game. i should have suspected because the box was open, it probably was a return

Saves time and reduces energy consumption..easy to clean, but takes a bit of getting used to. LED display is hard to figure out, needs more buttons.

I finally threw this in the trash. It just doesn't work properly. About 1 out of 5 times it will heat up and pressure cook. The other 4 times is shuts itself off after heating up but before it starts to pressure cook. I've done everything in the instruction manual to try and make it work, but it just doesn't. Very poor product and very poorly made.

Very disappointed

I received this as a birthday present, I was very excited to start using it. The first few times it was wonderful then I needed to replace the ring, the rings didn't fit. I replaced the entire unit, the second one worked until about the sixth time, for some reason it cooks but doesn't gain the pressure to do the actual pressure cooking.

The "non-scary" pressure cooker

This is not your mother's pressure cooker. I have both this and a stovetop Fagor. I much prefer this electric pressure cooker because it is more automatic and lessens my fear of having an explosion due to user error. It is easy to use after reading the directions. It is easy to clean, as well. My favorite recipes in it are pulled pork and parslied new potatoes. The parslied new potatoes recipe comes in the instruction booklet. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can get supper on the table.

giving it a second try

I had my first one for a few years and i thought it was the way it worked but come to find out i couldnt fill it more than 1/2 way (no matter what was cooking) otherwise the unit wouldnt get to pressure before it shuts off. then my mom uses hers and she can fill hers with no problem. i took mine back to WS and exchanged it... first time worked fine. now making beef stew and the same old stuff is happening... shuts off. i am at the point of returning it and going back to my crock pot..

an idea
i've had two of these pressure cookers with the same problem as you have had. not knowing what was wrong, i took them back for new ones. i found out that the reason it didn't come to pressure is i didn't have enough liquid in the pot. i was at a Williams Sonoma technique demo and the person teaching had the same problem. i told him to add more liquid and sure enough the it worked. hope this helps.

My New Best Friend in the Kitchen

Please....if you have ever considered this method of cooking do not hesitate to purchase this product. The quality is evident from the time you unpack it and becomes even more evident every time you use it. The controls are intuitive to use; operationally it is quick and quiet; the finished product is tender, moist and flavorful; clean up is so easy - the non-stick interior is a blessing after enjoying macaroni and cheese made in just 6 minutes. How could you not love this product?

Disappointing!

I returned this pressure cooker. It worked the first time I used it. Then no success after that. I even called the manufacturer's tech support and they told me to add more water which didn't help. The cooker just wouldn't get up to pressure. I took it back to a Williams Sonoma store where the clerk told me that she has this cooker and it can take up to 40 minutes to get up to pressure. How does this save time? She was very nice and processed my refund.

Best Pressure Cooker Ever

I LOVE everything about this pressure cooker. I had a stove-top pressure cooker years ago, and rarely used it because it was hard to clean, and it required a lot of guesswork. This electric unit is so versatile, and very easy to use. It's also easy to clean, and the non-stick surface is wonderful. I was visiting my daughter, and her stove broke down, but thank goodness she had this electric pressure cooker. You can use it to saute, or simmer as well as for pressure cooking. We were able to use it for virtually everything. I bought one for myself as soon as I got home. It's especially great for cooking dried beans; they're done to perfection after only 30-45 minutes, depending on the type of beans you're cooking. I'm looking forward to using it for soups and stews this winter.

Worked beautifully first time and never worked again. Called Cuisinart, they send me a new cord, still didn't work. They wanted to charge me shipping and recommended I call WS. They are replacing it for free. We'll see for the second one

Received a gift card for birthday, I was hesitant to purchase the pressure cooker until I read all the reviews. I love it! Cooked pork chops the day I received it. I worked that day, so wanted to see if our meal would be as quick and good as reviews said. They were delicious! Looking for more recipes to use with it. Cuisinart makes great products. Also, glad it is electric. We do not have central a/c, so will not heat up the kitchen.

I've been looking for a pressure cooker and purchased this item based on the great reviews its getting. I also thought this will help me cook without heating up the kitchen during the heat wave. I've had this only for a couple of weeks and used it only once but it cooked the beets beautifully. It's quite big for the kitchen counter (larger than a rice cooker) but it still fits on the counter and under the cabinets. Easy to clean and directions are helpful. Planning to cook beans, lentils, and some summer corn next!

I absolutely love this new *friend* in the kitchen and so does my husband. How have we lived all these years without a pressure cooker?!!! I cook beans, soups, artichokes, potatoes, within minutes. It's been great! Easy to use too! I've never used another brand or type, so I can't make a comparison comment. I have used this particular one every week since purchasing it and have not had one regret.

Not your Grandmas Pressure Cooker!

I received this Electric pressure cooker as a wedding gift. I have used it literally 3 times this week alone. We made Mediterranean brisket pot roast only took 55 minutes, it was wonderful very tender. I also cooked spare ribs in 20 minutes, and peppered Italian sausage for spaghetti 9 minutes! Very easy to use and great for a busy family like mine! I'm ordering the cook book today!

This is the best purchase I have made in a long time. Made chicken legs in this today and they were frozen and cooked in 20 minutes. Delicious! You won't be sorry if you purchase this. I love it so much I'm planning to order one for a friend for her birthday.
