Cuisinart has always been a trusted name for me. The first time I turned on this mixer, it died within 2 minutes. WS made the return process simple and also provided me with a replacement. Turned on the replacement to making frosting. It was working fine until I turned it off to add more icing sugar. Can you believe it?...it would not turn on again! This time I asked for my money back. I'm sure if you get one that's not defective that this would be a really nice hand mixer, however, this has not been my experience. Buyer beware!

Great hand mixer

I love this mixer for these reasons. 1, It is a handy mixer for quick mixing, 2. The weight is good. 3. Ease of use is good. 4. Really like the speed adjustment. 5. Love the storage. Over all, it is a good choice for a hand mixer. I like the fact that COOKS thought this was a great mixer too.

Great for Quick Mixes

After reading and comparing reviews and comments of comparable products, I decided to purchase the Cuisinart hand mixer. The Cuisinart is functional and easy to use although the first speed of is pretty fast so be cautious, especially when mixing liquids.

Great gift

Having used an earlier model of this mixer for some years, I purchased one for my son when he used mine and loved it. He has been very pleased. Both of us miss the timer function on this newer version but over all he is pleased. (Since this was a gift the frequency of use does not apply to me personally.)

Horrible mixer!

Well, for starters, when I turn it on ( which is supposed to be low), it surges to a super high speed then slows back down to what I would still consider high. The product brags about how it has several low speeds that start off super slow so nothing splatters, however, it is COMPLETELY opposite! There are 7 settings, but I would be afraid to take it above 4. It is crazy fast! In addition, the mixer attachments seem to wobble, even though they are plugged in securely. Horrible, horribe!.

does what it should

while slightly heavier than my old hand mixer, this really does offer the option of foregoing the use of my big Cuisinart mixer for smaller jobs, with less to clean up. The increased power and speed options allow me to feel that I really am "sizing down" and not using something only slightly more convenient than my hand whisk. Rather, it feels like a real tool that rounds out the options I have for baking and cooking. Love it. The mixing "blades" and whipping whisk are incredibly easy to clean.

This mixer works very well and is well made. The low speed is actually pretty fast. That is the only complaint I have. Because it is faster than a low speed- mixture seems to splash a little.

OK, but not great

Got this for Christmas fom my husband because I had a difficult time mixing a thick batter with our old mixer--could smell the motor burning when using it. I would rather have my old mixer back. This one is heavier. It's difficult to change speeds because it's not just an easy forward or backward motion of the thumb that is needed; you have to lift your thumb up and actually look to see that you're either hitting the +/- buttons. I just made zucchini bread that was rather thick, and I could smell the motor burning on this one too. I do like that the beaters are easier to clean, but that's about it. I have to store it flat on its bottom because it won't stand on end. So, it takes up more room for storage. I don't think it performs any better than your average hand mixer. If you want a great mixer, save your money and spend a little more to get a stand mixer or if you don't need a super-duper mixer, get a mid-range mixer.
