You get what you pay for
April 7, 2013
I would ignore the 1 and 2 star review here as I find from my own experience witht this coffee maker and many other brands, This brand I will be buying again in the future and be avoiding hamilton beach and kurig. As I stated before in a comment reply the reviews are just nit picky and or false. For 100 dollars would you like a coffee pot that holds a lot of coffe, has strength adjustment, burner temperature settings a wake timer a clock a hot water tank dispenser and auto shutoff if you cant wait for it to be done you can pull the opt off without coffee going all over. Or would you pay 2 hundred dollard for a kurig that makes just one cup of coffe and holds 6 cups of water?
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Easy to Clean, Size, Speed, Design
Cons: Loud, where to get charcoal filters

Drink fast

You better be there with your cup because as soon as it's done brewing, the burner shuts off and there is NO reheat function.

great coffee pot!!
honestly the reviews here are way too picky. The beeping is not that bad...it beeps 3 or 4 times and thats it once you pur a cup.As for the burner turning off on its own, I have no idea what you are talking about as it has a low medium or high element temp setting so how is yours shutting off on its own? In comparison to other coffee pots u get for 100-200 dollars such as kurig which does 1 cup at a time I think it does just fine. The charcoal filters (it came with 2 plus 1 free coffee scooper and about 8 filters) add a great tasting pure brew taste and makes even the lowest spectrum of the brands of coffee out there taste like a gourmet cup of heaven. It has a coffee strength adjustment knob for 1-4 cups for those who only want to make 1 or 2 very strong cups of coffe and a sleep timer. I think in combination with the coffe pot you are paying about 60 dollars for an amazing coffe pot and another 40 for a state of the art tea kettle hot water dispenser. All in all the reviews here are just nit picky and not paying attention to the fact that in the world coffee pots, you get what you pay for...unless it says hamilton beach or kurig on it.

Beep Beep Beep...Don't try to sleep!
January 30, 2013
The hot water feature is great for tea. This machine sounds like a semi truck in reverse when it beeps at the end of a brew. Don't plan on sleeping through the loud beep as you'll be able to hear it throughout the house. Otherwise this is a good machine. Cuisinart...change your electronic beeper!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality
Cons: Loud

Dream Team Combo
August 21, 2011
I love this coffee maker combo. The hot water system is by far my favorite feature. I'm a big time tea drinker and late at night when I don't want to make a whole pot this feature is the best. It of course it has other uses and the water reservoir is fairly large. The coal filter's are a nice touch and really does make a difference.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Easy to Clean, Speed, Versatile, Design, Assembly

Pro and Con
August 8, 2011
We bought this as a replacement & what we thought as an upgrade to an older, simpler coffee maker. While we like the versatility of this coffee & hot water maker, we were shocked at the cost of the replacement water filters that are used in this machine: $34.95 +sales tax, postage and handling, for a pkg of 12 charcoal filters. We feel that there should also be an option on the machine to turn off the loud sounding off with what we feel is an annoying five-beep alarm when the coffee brewing cycle is complete. Wow, it's as loud as our built-in microwave! We tend to race to the coffeemaker & turn it off before it reaches the beep cycle. We also tend to unplug it so we don't have to look at the bright blue lighted clock. We were also disappointed in the thin black surface coating that covers the heated plate under the carafe: when recently just wiping it off with only a damp sponge, the black coating started peeling off, leaving an unsightly scar – another made in China quality issue?
Pros: Easy to Use, Size, Speed, Versatile, back color hides coffee stains
Cons: Quality, expensive water filter replacements, loud alarm, bright clock light

The charcoal filters are worth the $
Actually $34.95 Is a really good deal for 12 of these, since I usually spend around 7 bucks for a pack of 2! You only have to replace the water filter around every other month (unless you use your coffeemaker more than once a day), so a 12 pack should last a year.
I find the charcoal filters are well worth the $ and make a huge difference in the coffee taste, as our city water is very hard. In fact, having a water filtration system is one of the must have features for my next coffeemaker.

overly sensitive
The filters have longevity and the price of 12 isn't to overwhelming when you don't have to purchase them often. Not wanting to discourage anyone from this item I fill the above comments regarding the "beep" and the blue light. Owning one myself and being of average sensitivity the beep is no loader then any average coffee makers. The Blue LED light also of average brightness shouldn't bought you unless its perhaps on your night stand. The hot plate issue maybe a valid issue, although I haven't had any after whipping it down.
