The water bar is fitted with red drinking droppers that are constantly replenished by a hanging lidded bucket of water, eliminating the need for open dishes that have to be cleaned regularly. Provides an extended supply of clean, fresh water for your chickens. Closed bucket system prevents detritus from entering drinking water. Bucket may be hung outside coop, allowing refill without bending down. Red water droppers naturally attract chickens. 3.5-g. cap. bucket. 25 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 1 3/4" overall. Simple assembly required. Created by Seattle Urban Farm Company. Made in USA.

The Only Way to Water Chickens!

We are brand new to chicken raising. We just got the cedar coop and are planning on buying another to expand. When I researched this product, I wanted a watering system that would be "closed" so it wouldn't get contaminated, and I wanted not to have to put water out every day as I work long days away from home. This system is perfect. It will take the birds a few days to a week to get used to it, but after about two weeks all our hens are using it. We had to put out some water on one very hot day before they discovered it, and we rigged up a metal rod to allow one of the nipples at a time to drip so they would discover the water. Now all is well. The only thing I would advise is to not try to mash the lid down too hard when you fill the container. To do so, we put the thing on the ground and the faucet broke off. I called the mfr, and they sent me a new spigot free of charge pronto. They advised seating the lid gently until the gasket is broken in.
