Not the best Salad dresser
January 30, 2013
This item does not emulsify the dressing very well! and If you add any garlic or anything it tends to get stuck in the pour spout. I thought this looked like a great idea, but doesn't seem to really work so well in reality!
Pros: Easy to Use, Size, Weight
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean

Don't waste your money
January 7, 2013
I agree w prior reviews. This products disappoints because:
- it clogs immediately if your dressing contains herbs or crushed garlic
- it leaks
- the squeeze/stir mechanism is clunky and not particularly effective
- it is extremely difficult to clean
This product was donated to charity after only 2 months.
Clearly the manufacturer opted to prioritize design over function and this product is a fail.
Pros: attractive design
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean, Temperamental, clogs, poorly designed

You don't understand the word "emulsify"
October 30, 2012
If you're looking for a gadget to emulsify a salad dressing, you don't understand the word "emulsify". Absolutely no amount of stirring, shaking, or swirling will ever make oil and vinegar combine. Emulsification is a molecular process, not mechanical. You'll need to add something to your dressing that coats the oil and vinegar molecules so they will combine. Unless you can find guar gum or soya lecitihin at your grocery, you can just use a plain old egg yolk. Works every time. Stirring or shaking never work, even with this fancy gadget.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Difficult to Clean, Temperamental, Inaccurate, Fragile

Fell apart and broke
July 30, 2012
I really liked this the first few months I used it. The handle started to get jammed and the lid wouldn't close well. It also is very hard to clean. It is made of plastic and probably should have been made better. I would pay more for something made better. Mine just broke yesterday. Started to press the handle in the mix my dressing and the handle snapped and broke. I had this for about 6months. I have to say I won't buy another one to replace it.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Difficult to Clean, Temperamental, Difficult to Store, Fragile

I really wanted to like this product!
July 25, 2012
I've had this product for over a year now and I can't say I recommend it. The little cap is useless ... I'm surprised I haven't lost it and it does nothing more than sit on top and look pretty. You can't easily transport this product because it is not leak-proof ... far from it. I get comments on its unique design and the way it looks but it just isn't up to scratch. It doesn't spin nicely and the lever used to spin it is often stiff. It just isn't well-made. And for dressings that have poppy seeds or sesame seeds (for example) it has a hard time mixing them ... and it doesn't pour the 'thicker' dressings well. And it's terrible to clean! So all that considered - I wouldn't buy this product ... search for one with a leak-proof lid and a shake-to-mix design ... I think you'll be better off!
Pros: looks unique
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Difficult to Clean

Not up to WS Quality - Save Yourself a Return
January 9, 2012
We received this as a wedding gift and I loved it... the first time I used it. After that, I have to agree with the other reviewers.
1) Hard to clean
2) The little cap can easily go missing and...
3) The handle broke clean off as the locking mechanism is horrible!
This is not up to WS quality and I hope they read these reviews and remove this product. Now I have to decide if I make the effort to return it or just send it to the trash!
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Difficult to Clean, Fragile

Use with care
December 9, 2011
Loved this gadget at first, lost the cap within a very short time. "Someone" probably threw it away!
Love the recipes on the side, use as a base for other recipes I made up, get compliments on dressing all the time. However, just noticed when cleaning it, little pieces of herbs stuck on the bottom because the base is glued on, not solid construction, and herbs are stuck in that seam. I won't use it if it isn't perfectly clean. I've tried rice grains and soaking to no avail. This is a great idea that needs work.
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Easy to Store, Versatile
Cons: Difficult to Clean

Not a Good Product
December 7, 2011
I wish I would have read more reviews on this item before purchasing it in the store. It doesn't mix very well, and the internal mechanism on the lid broke after only 3 uses.

Love it! Love it!
September 1, 2011
I no longer use bottle dressings. This is the best pre measured emulsifier I have ever owned and I have had many. I make my own concoctions with lemon juice, light olive oils, herbs, etc. It is hard to mess this up and I am converted to natural! Just get your vinegar and favorite oils in right proportion and change it up to your own taste.Doesn't hurt to own one of WM Sonoma's Salad Cookbooks.
If you keep the closer rims free of salt, pepper , or sugar, the top is easy to close. Just do not force it in any way or I could see how a cook could break it.
Great choice WM Sonoma!
Also...do not use squeeze handle when the oil is in a more solid form. Let your dressing come to room temperature first.
I am ordering more of these. Please do not discontinue.

Great option to the grocery store dispensers
July 23, 2011
This is great for vinegarette dressings. I use it almost every day and it's easy to measure the oil & vinegar, The tip is very small but haven't lost it yet!

Needs to be redesigned
July 15, 2011
This item broke on its third or fourth use. Even when it was working it was not robust enough for some of the dressings we were making. They should redesign with quality metal parts.

Just terrible
June 26, 2011
Have tried to make this work for weeks now, and it just doesn't! Doesn't emulsify the dressing reliably, and is even worse at pouring due to small spout. Pass this one by.

Make and store your own vinaigrettes...
April 12, 2011
All the people who had trouble using the emulsifier must be the same troubled people fumbling with ordinary gadgets on infomercials.
It doesn't leak, you don't need to shake it, it doesn't hurt to use it, BUT it is easy to use, easy to clean, and the measurements on the side make it fun for news cooks (i.e. my girlfriend).
The grip operated stir corkscrew is meant for liquids, and I can see it breaking if you try to emulsify solids. Maybe some of the reviewers were making a peanut butter vinaigrette???
The only con is the spout cover, it should be attached to the cap so it doesn't get lost. Perhaps a flip top cap?
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store
Cons: spout cover

Doesn't work at all
February 21, 2011
I received this as a gift and really wanted it to work. I didn't even bother giving it to the thrift store, I just threw it away. Stick with a whisk and bowl, or a jar with a tight fitting lid.
Too bad.

Inspiring salad dressing prep tool!
February 5, 2011
This is a fantastic creation! What a novel idea. The recipes for 4-5 different salad dressings are right ON THE SIDE of the bottle with the marks indicating how much of each to add.
It makes dressing prep a snap!

Works perfectly for us!
January 3, 2011
I was extremely hesitant to purchase after reading all the negative reviews, but was assured by the WS sales person that it could be returned if it did not perform up to my expectations. I've had mine a couple of weeks now - and no problems at all! It emulsifies the dressing perfectly, and pours without dripping. Yes, the small top is a bit difficult to remove, but that's minor. It works great for us.

Terrible Broke the First Time I Used It
December 13, 2010
I'd give this zero stars if I could. Broke the first time I used it. Can't even use it as a shakable dressing container because if you shake it it goes EVERYWHERE. The little top thingy is awful. I just hope I can return it.

Exactly!
Same thing happened to me. I couldn't believe it. No way to fix it, either. Terribly disappointing.
