Chef'n Pull Mandolin
March 14, 2013
This product was difficult to use; the end result disappointing and the directions left much to one's imagination. Even my husband had problems with the "push and pull" method. Not for the faint of heart!

Chefn pull and slice
February 19, 2013
I found that the Mandolin (Chefn Pull and slice) was hard to figure out and difficult to use. To make french frys you have to have a small potato to fit the opening. We are going to junk the unit.

Great Tool for Slicing
January 22, 2013
I bought this item because it looked like it would be easy to use and had some nice safety features. I tried to use it according to the instructions in the provided booklet but I couldn't figure out what they were saying to do. I found the video on this site and watched it three times until I got the idea how to assemble the mandoline. I then tried again and this time got it together but when I tried slicing a tomato, it just shredded it. Then I remembered the video saying to adjust the thickness of the slice. You must adjust the blade to either 1,2,3 or 4. It will just mangle your food if it is not set to the slicing thickness. I was really surprised how easy it was to slice. I have sliced carrots, potatoes, turnips, celery, green peppers and onions. It is really a great tool and your hands are no where near the blades. Just be careful disassembling the unit and when washing.
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Size, Versatile, Design, Weight

Awkward to use
January 18, 2013
I like the fact that this mandoline is safer than traditional mandolines, but it is very awkward to use and difficult to clean. I also had the same problem with the mandoline turning orange from carrots.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean

Not impressed at all
November 12, 2012
I'm extremely unhappy with this purchase. I used it for the first time this past weekend and not only was it extremely difficult to use, but it turned colors from the vegetables. The entire thing is now bright orange from when I sliced carrots. I am unable to get it out. I even washed it immediately. In terms of difficult to use. There is no short way to explain it other than just very difficult to use.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean, Difficult to Store

One of my favorite gadgets in my kitchen
October 30, 2012
I am so happy with my purchase. I bought this a few months ago and I use it almost everyday. I have used it on almost anything including ripe tomatoes, onions, cucumber, potatoes, etc with so much ease and perfectly done. I like the fact that I can adjust the thickness of the slice. Very easy to clean also. I think it will be a perfect gift to give for the holidays.

Fixing what ain't broke
September 13, 2012
The Chef,n Pull,n Slice Mandoline fills a much needed void. The concept is interesting: the vegetable holds still while the blade moves under it. It's a safety issue. But it's limiting. The hand guard doesn't allow for all of the vegetable to go through slicing, leaving almost 1/2" uncut. Because the opening in the safety hood is fixed, if you're looking to make long strips, this is not the tool to use. The julienne blade does a deep scoring but doesn't allow for a full cut--you have to break up the strips manually. The french cut is too tall to fit under the safety hood and is useless. Finally there are so many grooves and fixed under pinnings that it is extremely difficult to clean. The OXO V-Slicer is a much better buy.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Difficult to Clean, Inaccurate, Fragile

Quick easy cuts
September 10, 2012
I was somewhat skeptical about using this product based some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put together and operate. I tried a variety of vegetables and was impressed by all the cuts and sizes I could make very quickly. I also felt that this product was safer than some of the mandolines that I've previously used.
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Size, Weight

Disappointing
September 10, 2012
I bought this mandoline as an impulse purchase as I was checking out. I've been wanting a mandoline for awhile, and I was wooed by the price. It was demo'd for me and it all looked good. It was easy to use, and the potatoes were sliced uniformly. When I got home I tried slicing cucumbers and tomatoes. They sliced into mushed up partial slices. I tried going faster with the same results. Slower, pushing down harder... nothing worked. I believe this product only works well on harder veggies like potatoes or carrots. Mine is going back to the store.

don't buy it
September 6, 2012
This is way too complicated to use, and even when we finally figured out how to use it, it reallyl didn't slice all that nicely. Product was returned, which was easy to do and we appreciate that.

Very user friendly and safe!!! I love it!
September 5, 2012
I saw this product a few weeks ago in my WS catalog, and went to the store the next day to see it. The design is very safety conscious and user friendly. My only previous experience with a mandoline was cutting my thumb, so I had pretty much decided not to use one until I saw this one. My first pull on it showed a little resistance, but then I realized that I needed to push and pull more quickly. If you do it too slowly, it doesn't work as intended. I just love it. Today, I sliced 4 pounds of apples for apple butter, and made match-sticks fries for my husband. I will definitely be looking for more opportunities to use this great tool!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Time-saver, Easy to Store, Design, safe and ergonomic

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
September 4, 2012
This was my first mandoline and it was difficult to use. The handle slider was awkward to use and the blades were not sharp enough. I started looking at the de Buyer (red) and the sales person must have thought I couldn't afford it and took me to see this one. I got it home and struggled with the push pull motion. I returned it the next day and bought the de Buyer. I am soooo happy now, the new one works like a dream.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Temperamental, Difficult to Store, doesn't fold up

Pull'n Slice Mandoline is not a good choice!
August 29, 2012
1- due to friction between the sliding parts, the mandolin is SLooooooooooooooow
it need strong pulls and pushs
2- since the main plane which is moving is heavier than the rest of the parts, you need to push strongly on safety cap so it will stay stable, which then makes it no comfortable on your other hand
3-it is not comfortable for any size food or fruit
4-the distance between the main pillars is not enough so you can not place a bowl or a big size dish under it which is a very big disadvantageous
5- does not worth 50 dollars
6- oh before i forget, we have 2 hands if one is used for holding the safety cap and one for back and fort movement the item must be really stable probably screwed into the counter-top or else it will not stay stable
Cons: Difficult to Use, Weight, un stable, tight

Great mandoline
August 11, 2012
I loved the price point of this mandolin and the ease with which I could slice my vegetables. It was easy to clean. I also like that I could adjust the size of the slice. Many mandolins are very expensive. This one was very reasonably priced. I am very happy I purchased this mandolin.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Easy to Clean, Size, Versatile, Design

Better options, don't waste your money!
August 10, 2012
I though this mandoline looked promising when I saw the video and then checked it out in the store, but there are several options that are better. I am disappointed and I will be returning it tomorrow.
Opening in the blade cover limits the size more than a traditional design. If you have a fat round tomato, apple, orange, etc., it will not fit in the opening. Also, you cannot make long slices or fries.
When making round cucumber or carrot slices, they are difficult to hold still when moving the blade back and forth and using the holder.
The white plastic was lightly stained after cutting carrots and cucumbers. It didn't come off even when using bleach. I would select a stainless steel model instead.
There were a few things that i liked but it is not worth the time to discuss them since the cons were to much.

Just another Mandoline Not worth Price
August 3, 2012
I keep thinking I'm going to find a worthwhile mandoline. Tried every price range and this one looked promising. Blades would not stay in...mushed squished and didn't get what I paid for...going back to store tomorrow. Back to my knives. Surprised how disappointed I was..William Sonoma is usually quite reliable and many terrific items.
Pros: Easy to Clean
Cons: Difficult to Use, Quality, Temperamental
