Chef'n Strawberry Huller

Ideal for making fresh fruit salads, strawberry shortcake and fruit toppings for desserts, this fun kitchen tool quickly removes the leaves and stem from a strawberry. Removes leaves and stems while leaving as much fruit as possible. Push-button stainless-steel "claw" inserts into berry; twist and pull to remove stem and hull. Also handy for coring tomatoes. Top-rack dishwasher safe.

This little tool makes prepping strawberries not only a breeze, but fun too. It is certainly affordable and definitely easy to clean. Can't wait to use it often this summer.

Expected more
June 4, 2013
This is a great product but only works on larger strawberries. I was planning a party and making stuffed strawberries but the smaller berries feel apart when I attempted to use the huller. However, the larger berries came out really pretty.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: not good for smaller strawberries

Love this product!
June 2, 2013
This Strawberry Huller works perfectly. My daughter tried it, too. We hulled 2 gallons of strawberries in less than 30 minutes with no waste. I'd buy it again and recommend to everyone! Dishwasher safe. I purchased 2 and now have to order one for my daughter-in-law!

Great Little Gadget!
May 6, 2013
This gadget is definitely a keeper. Works really well and removes stem and hull in one "grab and twist motion" just as described. Leaves behind only the best part of the strawberry. No more trying to core with a paring knife. Some gadgets are so-so but this one is great.
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Design

Hulls GREAT!
April 4, 2013
This little gadget is wonderful!!! I love it. I love to make homemade strawberry jam, plain strawberries to eat, strawberry puree, etc. Using a huller allows me to only pull out the part of the strawberry that needs to be pulled - leaving the actual strawberry intact. It's not quite as fast as a knife - but using it allows you to have that true "strawberry shape" if you are slicing them.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Easy to Store, Design

Wow! Not just another gadget...
February 3, 2013
I bought this on a whim because it's so cute. I never expected that it would stem and hull a strawberry so beautifully. It takes less time than using a knife and virtually eliminates the bitter white hull. This gadget has a permanent place in my kitchen

BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD
January 28, 2013
OMG This gadget is the most amazing little wonder. I am not a person who typically buys gadget and consider most of them a waste of money. I'm not sure if I'm more in love with this little gem or the strawberry slicer. I would give both 10 Stars if I could.

Fantastic, multiple uses!
September 12, 2012
I love my Strawberry huller. Not only does it have a cute product design that looks like a strawberry, it's also multi-functional. I also use it to core my tomatoes instead of a knife which can be a little wasteful. Fantastic!

Confused...
I appreciated the detailed review of this product. My daughter LOVES strawberries and I thought she would appreciate this time-saver. I was confused about the negative comment regarding the quality. It would have been more helpful if you had added specifics regarding this one issue. Are you saying that this product is cheaply made? Will it break easily if not handled gently? I'm going to give it a try, as the price is decent and it sure would be a help if it holds out.
Thanks for reading. I'll write a review after we use the product.

Neat Product - bought for gifts too!
July 25, 2012
I've had this product for over a year now and we just love it! We use it every day with our morning smoothie ... and it works great on tomatoes too! I have bought several as gifts/stocking stuffers and they're always well received! It's one of those cooks tools that won't just sit in a drawer - you'll get miles out of it! Easy to clean - and we put it in the cutlery basket of the dishwasher too!

Makes Easy Work of a Tedious Task
July 12, 2012
This huller is easy to use and is really effective. It can truly gut the inside of a berry if you push the huller in deeply or just as easily remove a bit from the top.
This makes hulling a million strawberries for tarts much easier and faster. This makes me a happier cook.
I wash mine in the dishwasher with no issue.
My only complaint is that one of the metal teeth bent a bit from regular use. It hasn't worsened, but it is a bit wonky now.
All in all, good tool and recommended.

great for strawberries and tomatoes
July 11, 2012
This utensil makes quick work of getting both strawberries and tomatoes ready to slice. I have given several as gifts and everyone has been surprised at the ease and effectiveness of this tool. I have had to buy a second one after the first one disappeared into the garbage disposal among the strawberry hulls, so beware of that.

Wonderful tool
May 28, 2012
I have to admit, me getting this was a bit of an extravegance as I don't often cook or make salads with strawberries. I normally eat them whole. However, for the occasional smoothie or Pimms & Lemonade, I figured it may be worth it. And it is!
It takes a few strawberries to get used to the technique and then after that you're flying. Also, don't use any overly ripe berries. I had a couple of soft ones in my most recent punnet and this thing turned them into mush. But this is more of an FYI than a complaint. Fantastic tool over all.

Cute and Functional
April 23, 2012
This little gadget has it all, Looks & Works. Obviously one of the cutest addition to my kitchen. It saves time & anxiety of having to hull each strawberry. i used to use a paring knife, and cautiously (1) not cut myself and (2) not hold the strawberry to hard as to bruise it. This little huller makes it so much easier. a Must for all strawberry eaters!
Pros: Easy to Use, Time-saver, Design

Strawberry Huller
April 9, 2012
This is a handy little gadget. It took a few tries to get it right. You don't have to open the claws all the way, but once you insert them, push the huller in and then twist. It leaves more of the strawberry. It works great.
