Brining Bags

These are great! I use them every time I am brining a turkey. Brining is the best way to cook a turkey and these are the best bags to use because they are the most durable bags that I have seen. I like the large size bags, since I usually do 18lbs and up. I like the pleats and the sealing. Wish you could make a choice on the sizes without them being packaged with sizes you may not use.

THESE BAGS DO THE JOB!

First time brining a turkey and these bags did the job! They are sturdy and held our 20.5 lbs. turkey with no problem. It held the two gallons of brining solution so the capacity was just great! The additional clips to keep the double zipped bags securely closed was another plus. It was a no fuss, no muss affair. I recommend these bags for a tender, succulent turkey every time. All I got were raves from my dinner guests!

Too Small???

I brined a 23.5 pound turkey last week and had no difficulty. There was plenty of space and the result was wonderful. Just follow the recommended quantities of liquid and no problem. I've used other brining schemes and this was the easiest.

First time purchasing the brine bags.
My 14lb turkey would not fit in the large bag. This item says it will hold much larger bird, NOT TRUE, no amount of pushing could get my turkey in it.
My solution.
I used a new large storage travel bag, the type you remove the air from. It was over sizes & worked.
When expecting guest for dinner it is not the time to get frustrated on items like this.

Only way to brine

I have used these bags for Thanksgiving turkey brine. Love the large size and ease of closure. They are also great in the fact they do not open when bird is turned or lifted out to empty. Great strength in the material and closure. I wish they would offer them in large size only and small size only. The combo pack leaves me with too many small bags.

I think the bags are great, it is unfortunate that they are so expensive and have 2 smaller bags that are essentially useless. Please do create a set of just 4 large bags!
I never had them leak and they work as advertised. Great product.

Bags Leaked

$17 for four bags. Double-bagged my turkey and it still leaked through both bags. Total waste of money. Invest in a nice plastic tub/container instead.

never happened to me
I have used these for years and never had one leak...I will tell you though you have to make sure both seals are sealed all the way across, it is a little difficult to do sometimes, but if you get them sealed they won't leak.

My New Favorite Product for Preparing a Turkey

I recently purchased the brining bags to prepare my 29 pound turkey for Thanksgiving. This was my first experience of brining a turkey and using the brining bag. I will never make a turkey again without using this method and these fantastic bags. The bag was extremely sturdy and the seal on it was terrific. I placed the bag in a extremely large dish pan and put the turkey inside. I added a double batch of brining liquid since the turkey was so large. The bag held up to the liquid and never leaked a drop. The turkey was extremely moist and didn't dry out a bit. I was a little nervous using it for the first time since I was entertaining for 25 people but now I would do it again without hesitation.

Best turkey ever

I've always been skeptical of brining but with the brining bags, it was a cinch. I had one small problem. My turkey was a fresh turkey and the neck had sharp bones protruding. Fortunately, we saw the leak before we put it in the fridge. We had to use the 2nd bag but I'm sold. The brining recipe that came with the bags was great.

Good and Plenty

This brining bag had plenty of room for a 24+ lb turkey. The heavy quality of the bag assured us that the bird would be safe through the night before roasting and the seal was very secure. We'll order them again.

my first attempt with brining bags

my brining bad immedately got a hole in it as soon as I placed the turkey inside. I had liquid leaking on my kitchen floor, but luckily, I have a 5 gallon container that was close by, to save losing my brine.

Loved the Large Brining bags

The two large ones were perfect for my 18 pound turkeys. No leaking, or problems. I don't think that the small bags it came with will be useful. I wish it came with four large ones.

This was the first Thanksgiving I used the brining bags. I typically brine our turkey and have struggled to find a bag or bucket that is food safe, fits in the fridge and is easy to turn the turkey in. Not anymore! These bags are sturdy, easy to use, and are food safe. Our turkey was 18lbs and fit with a lot if space leftover. I will use the small bags to brine whole chickens or small turkeys. This was a great purchase!

THE BAG LEAKED!!!!!!

STAY AWAY FROM THE WILLIAMS SONOMA BRINING BAGS.......THEY LEAK. BOTH LARGE BAGS LEAKED AT THE SEAM.
That's just under $40.00 - the cost of the brining spices + the cost of the poorly made brining bags. Not to mention a lot of wasted time cleaning up the refrigerator.

Quality Bags

This will be my third Thanksgiving using these bags. The bag is super sturdy--and the "zipper" closure stays sealed even when I am rotating the bag during the brining process. I've even had a full bag slip out of my hands and fall about a foot without opening. I've also used other brands of bags that have given off a "plastic" odor/taste. This bag does not do that.

We love to brine a turkey each year. It has become a family favorite. I do wish they would come in all large or all small. I could really just use the all large bag option.

Good Selection of Bags

It was great to have more than 1 in a box for other roasts and future use. Bags were sturdy, no leakage, and the results were fantastic. Would definitely buy this product again!
