i recently purchased this foamer after returning a capresso foamer (from another store) that was horrible, it made me never want to drink coffee again. i started with a keurig foamer that did the trick but kept breaking and was now looking for something new and better. well this is the best foamer ever. first off it foams a real amount of milk, unlike most of the other foamers that only take 3-5 ounces of milk, a real bonus when two people want to drink coffee at the same time. secondly you can control the temperature from cold to really hot and everywhere in between. but most importantly of all, it is all stainless steel with a hard plastic foaming disc. the milk never burns on the bottom of the pot and it is a dream to clean and the disc appears that it will never break,
seriously this is the best product ever, it costs a little more than the others but i am sure it will be worth it when i don't have to replace it in 6 months.

Frother works perfect! I too use it every day, twice a day for lattes. I've not had any issues with the unit mentioned by others. If you're looking for an inch of froth, it's not going to do that but makes a great hot latte in exactly 4 minutes.

I am very pleased with this frothier. I use it 7 days a week, 2 times a day and every cup is just perfect. For best froth results use a quality brand milk such as Alta Dena. This product preforms to protection when following the guidelines set forth in the product information guide.

For some reason, some milk brands froth better than others. I find the ultra-pasteurized froths the best (like Organic Cow now Horizon) and skim froths beautifully!

Love This Frother

Went thru 3 Nespresso frothers and another one and was giving up.. Thinking of going back to hand frothing. Then someone at WS recommended this frother. We have had it over a year. It is used a minimum of twice a day with no problems. Love that you can put it in the dishwasher and you can froth enough milk for 3 people. We use 2% milk like others have mentioned. Yes it's pricy but when I think of how much I've spent collectively on others and the time spent retuning them, this has been a deal.

Where's the Froth?

This work 2- 5 times ratio in and 2xs heated and no Froth. The idea is good not this product. The two times it work- Froth and warmed the milk was good but it does't always work?? R&D?? so I sent it back, very disappointed(: A 550 watt and price; it should work all the time.

Save yourself the trouble

I've never written a review before but I thought I needed to save future customers the trouble of buying this item. I'm on my 2nd machine and this one still doesn't work properly. It works about 2 out of every 10 times. Other reviews have said the same thing. Unless you want frustration and disappointment, don't buy this item.

First had purchased Nespresso unit; frothed great but milk was barely lukewarm. This unit heats the milk to whatever temperature you use & it's also great for making hot chocolate !

Good, When it Works

I am on my third Frother!
The magnetic disk did not spin on the first one.
The Second one burned the milk on the sides.
Hoping the third time it will work like it should!
The disc does not always spin on the bottom. It turns itself off when this happens. So I am playing with it until it begins to spin.

Another great product. Use this for hot cocoa and to froth milk for espresso and teas. Works very well and easily holds enough milk for two+ cups. I've been using it for over a year at least 2 times per week with no problem.

Best Frother on the Market

I have used every frother available and after my capresso plastic basket cracked, I bought Breville's product. It not only frothers a larger amount of milk but has an improved metal basket, controlled heat settings and is easy to clean. In addition the plug-in cord has a hole for easy pull out. Really cool for difficult to reach outlets under cabinets. All in all a superior product that is well worth the higher price.

Fantastic product

I purchased this item two months ago and have used it everyday since. It makes the most wonderful frothed milk for espresso drinks, as well as foamy chai tea lattes. I love the different heat settings and use the recommended setting for cow's milk, a little hotter for chai concentrate and soy milk. I was debating between another, slightly less expensive frother when I selected this product, and I am so glad that I did. I have never liked the frothing arm on my espresso machine, and this frother is so much easier to use. Can't recommend it enough!

Love it for Hot Cocoa

Our previously used hot cocoa maker was recalled for having lead parts. It was also made of plastic, so we returned it rather than get the replacement.
We were a bit worried about this one because my kids loved that the other one had an easy pour spout that you just flipped up. With this one you have to pick up the pot and pour it. The other one was also an easy way to make mulled cider as well.
However, this one is adorable and useful. I love that it's stainless steel, it holds more than it looks like & it's easy to use. It's not hard to properly place the little disc either. It's fine to pour it (though we do spill some - bad for klutzes).
Also, you can put this one in the dishwasher (not so with the plastic Back to Basics one we used to have) and nothing burns on the bottom either.
We use it mostly with the Williams-Sonoma hot cocoa mixes or also our own mixes (we just chop up chocolate and toss it in with milk, no powder for us).
Hopefully it lasts a long time.

Fantactic Little Frother

OK I am here to dispel all the bad reviews of this frother!
This things is fantastic. To dispel the first problem everyone says they have. The have fixed the frothing rings to only fit one way so there is no way to "put them on upside down" anymore.
Use the Optimum Milk Temp setting and NEVER change it! It gets it just deliciously hot, but not I feel as I may lose my tongue hot.
Use 2% milk! It froths the best, and tastes great!
Add the Hot Chocolate mix whilst it froths, not before. Mixes it better!
It really is a easy machine to use, my five year old does, trust me.
And on a side note it makes out of this world, Indian Masala Chi Tea, add chocolate, its makes it heavenly :)

My cousin made coffee and used her Breville frother to whip up froth for our coffee one morning while I was visiting her. I lloved it so much that I bought one for my mother, one for my sister and one for myself. I may be returning it for a new one. It is a fantastic product when it works; however, it seems to be intermittent. When it does work it makes an amazing, thick froth even with skim milk! I add a little cinnamon to the milk and then froth it. I add about a Tbsp. of half-and-half to my coffee and then top it with the froth made from skim milk. It is my tiny guilty pleasure!

I love that fact that it heats my milk and I don't worry about scorching. I was using my bamix frothing then microwaving.......enough of that idea! I love making my lattes my way and I'm sure I'm saving money too! Great for making the best hot chocolates, now for the first snow storm ;)

We bought one last Christmas (2011) for our son. He loves it. He uses it very often and has no problems. We bought one for ourselves a couple of months ago- no problems. Love the way it works, very easy. Getting ready to order a 3rd one for my other son for Christmas.
** a note about the people who had trouble w/it shutting off "quickly". This happened to me too- then I realized - One push turns on the power, touch it again to start it... Very easy to use once you realize this, otherwise the safety shut off kicks in.
I use organic whole milk, but have used 2% also. No problems. It says to use fresh milk, but even after milk has been open close to 2 weeks it worked fine. Check that your disc is in small end up, push power button twice and enjoy!
