Breville Compact Smart Oven
Breville's updated Compact Smart Oven simplifies dozens of cooking tasks, from broiling pork chops to heating a 12" pizza, yet it takes up even less counter space than ever. Simple to use, it has a range of dial-controlled functions and features - and a generous 1800 watts of power. Compact size saves counter space. Heat setting range from 120deg.F to 450deg.F. Eight preset functions include toast, bagel, bake, roast, broil, pizza, cookies and reheat. Roomy interior accommodates a 12" pizza or four slices of bread. Temperature conversion button and frozen-foods defrost button simplify cooking tasks. "Smart" internal-sensor technology automatically adjusts power and calculates cooking time. Easy-to-read backlit LCD display changes color when cooking is complete. Two-hour timer has auto shut off. Nonstick baking chamber. Pullout crumb tray simplifies cleaning. Includes enamel baking pan and enamel broiling rack.

waste of money

Wow, this thing is terrible. I bought this primarily for toasting, about 80% of use. It just doesn't get hot enough, it more "bakes" than toasts and it is slow also.
Pre sliced sourdough takes 5-6 minutes and is dried out as is regular white bread.
Sweat appears on glass door when doing white bread, to the point of running down the door.

Breville did send a replacement but the new one is exactly the same as the first one.
Back breaker was today trying frozen waffles, never really got done correctly. After 7 minutes, barely a light tan color and yet completely dried out.
You have to wonder if they ever test these things before dumping on the market. To be honest, I didn't even try the other functions, why bother if it failed it's primary mission.
Going back today.

Great Quality and Great Looking

We have had this little oven for three months. It toasts and heats all goodies from pizza to bagels perfectly. We have not baked or cooked anything it in, that's not why we bought it. It really is very attractive, and looks quite stylish on the counter. The only negative is the timer. As other reviewers have noted, it's loud and beeps three shrill times. Yes, you can actually hear it when you are four rooms removed from kitchen. This does not pose a problem for us, other than it's annoying. Other than that, this oven does it's job well.

The Best Counter Top Oven

Fits nicely in my small kitchen. Highly recommend this oven for every one of your baking needs and more. Great for roasting, too! The interior stays clean, even after broiling..

Great little oven

This is one of the best kitchen purchases we've made -- we use it pretty much every day, since buying it a year and half ago, either to bake, reheat or toast. Items cook evenly, in good time, and cleaning is easy. Very low maintenance, and the outside, while it gets warm, I have never burned myself or melted any items atop of it (unlike the old black and decker we had). What's really great about it is that when it's just the two of us, we don't need to fire up our full oven. This little guy does the trick. I would recommend to anyone.

Works well - controls better than full size!

Bought for my boat. Controls work much smoother than the full size convection model (850) which I also own. The 850 controls grind like they have sand in them. Have not done any baking yet but suspect that it would not have made a noticeable difference to have convection baking. Crumb tray works easily; a plus when the oven is screwed in place! OBTW makes perfect toast (even repetitvely) if that's a big deal to you.

Compact Oven

This little oven is wonderful. We have had it a week and done several things with it. The pros are many but the big con is that the handle gets very hot and you need a pot holder to open the door.

Overall very pleased with this purchase. Makes our less expensive past toaster ovens look like junk! Looks good, doesn't take up too much space. Love all of the functions on the oven. Perfect for smaller baking projects. Would highly recommend if you can make the splurge.

Slick looking kitchen workhorse

I've owned this for less than a month, but have used it extensively for toasting, roasting and broiling. I'm basically pleased with my experience. It is a great substitute for big ovens when they might not be necessary. If you want to do pizzas, I'd go for the biggest model in this Breville line. I love its slick design which complements the look of my kitchen. However, I was slightly disappointed with the actual size, which appeared smaller than expected (though I was aware of specific dimensions before ordering). The only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars is the control panel design. Some of the setting labels are difficult to see from the view angle of a standing person (unless the user is less than 5 feet tall) for an oven designed for countertop.

You know how you want to just heat a little something up but you want it crispy? O r how heating with the oven is too much, but with this it is perfect. So far, I have had it a couple of months, this oven/toaster has been everything I needed. I haven't even made toast yet, I have been busy baking for a single person-meat pies, pizza etc. I highly recommend this, and it is the perfect size for a busy counter

This is a wonderful oven. Toasting and baking results are consistent with my range oven, but a less energy cost. It is simple to operate and the manual is quite easy to read and understand. The only reason I did not give it a 5-star rating is this: the top is indicated as a plate warmer, but I feel it si just a little too hot. Other than that, I recommend this oven.

We have owned this oven for two years and use it almost every day. We keep it in our pantry porch and find it especially useful in hot weather when we don't want to heat up the whole kitchen with our big gas oven. Love the short preheat time, the accurate temperature, and the ease of use.

I researched and reviewed this oven for a while before I purchased.
I went ahead and with this one, and I'm thrilled with my choice. I was worried about getting the wrong size, but this one works for almost all of my needs. It fits 4 large slices of toast easily, but it fits well under my cabinets. I would imagine the larger one is a tough fit in the kitchen.
In terms of the baking, it makes excellent toast, reheating, and other baked items. I haven't used it for anything too dramatic, but it has served perfectly for everyday needs.
It is very easy and self explanatory, it lets you customize a lot and you know how long you'll be waiting as it has a timer that counts down to the end. Yay, no guessing!!
Comes woth slotted tray and baking tray.
I would absolutely recommend this, it's well worth the price you pay.

AMAZING Little Oven!

I received this as a bridal shower gift, and its absolutely amazing!! We've only had it a week and we've already made filet mignons that were cooked to perfection and caprese burgers on the great broil pan. Perfect for making small meals and wonderful for any city dweller that doesn't want to heat up the entire apartment with the conventional oven. I can't recommend this product enough!!

I never really even considered a "toaster" oven before, thinking I didn't have room for one. So happy I found this compact Breville at W-S! Have had it over 2 weeks and it has been in use daily. Besides morning toast, I've baked potatoes, a cherry pie, muffins, and reheated leftovers. Works perfectly every time. It heats up to temp quickly and is an absolute breeze to keep clean. With this killer summer, it just didn't make sense to heat up a 5.6 cu foot oven for small jobs. At .6 cu foot, this little guy does a great job. The inside measures about 12" square. It does generate a little heat; most of the heat is in the area of the door and you will need 4" clearance on each side. It does get hot on top, but it doesn't make the bottom of my cupboards as hot as my Kitchenaid toaster did, so that's a plus!

I have used this oven for baking, broiling, and warming left over pizza and it does a fine job. I bought it so i would not have to use my big oven for just the two of us and it does an excellent job.

The PERFECT size!

Love, Love this Oven. I debated over the Breville Convection Oven, or this one. I chose this one because of the smaller size. My counterspace is limited, and I'm so happy I chose this one. It heats up SO fast. Saves time and money when compared to using your oven. Love the warming plate on top. Easy to clean.
