Brass Tipped Tamper Dibber

Hand-crafted of solid beech wood, this traditional English garden tool provides efficient assistance during planting. The brass-tipped dibber pushes easily into garden soil, creating just enough space for seeds, seedlings and bulbs. It also makes easy work of loosening seedling roots and making shallow drills in seedbeds or trays prior to planting. The broad-ended tamper head evenly pats down displaced soil. Traditional English garden tool for use in planting. Hand crafted of solid beach wood. Brass tip offers durability and resists corrosion. Leather strap for easy storage. 21/2" wide, 6 1/2" long. Made in England.

Lovely Tool
October 21, 2013
I am in love with this tool! It is finely crafted, beautiful to look at and to hold, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. I used it to plant spring bulbs last weekend and found it very useful. I used to have a clunky metal dibble that was heavy and not well suited to my small hand. This one is great. Highly recommended. Oh-and about that other one star review because of lead in the metal. If it's an issue, considering it's in contact with the soil for about 2 seconds at a time, you can always dab on a bit of clear nail polish...

Contains lead
March 16, 2013
I thought this was an attractive dibber, liked the wood, the markings and it is from England, which has fantastic gardening tools, but it arrived with an attached warning that it contains lead and the chemical's hazards. Evidently brass contains quite a bit of lead, so if that concerns you, I would not purchase this item. The brass fitting under the tamper is not tight and needed to be adjusted.
