Beautiful Towel Does Not Dry

I was very excited with the new line of dishes that have pumpkins and vines. When the sales woman recommended these towels to go along with them I was delighted. I've washed them and have used them this week with great disappointment. Water just gets smeared around on glasses or anything else I try to dry. Even my hands. They are 100% cotton but seem to be sealed. I'm hoping that after several washes they will improve for use and not be just a pretty thing to have in the kitchen.
Pros: Easy to Clean, Design
Cons: Unreliable, do not work
