Bodum Chambord French Press with Locking Lid, 8-Cup

Thanks to an innovative new locking lid system, Bodum's French press keeps coffee at its freshly brewed best for hours. The patented system has a lever that, when released, seals the spout shut, locking in heat while preserving fresh flavor and aroma. Locking lid system features a heat-retaining seal over the precision-pour spout. Fine-mesh filter separates grounds from brewed coffee. Heat-resistant borosilicate glass carafes are easy to clean. Stay-cool nonslip Santoprene handle and base. Simple to use and easy to clean.

Makes the best coffee!
January 29, 2013
I often wondered why the coffee from my automatic brew lacked in flavor and sometimes tasted burned. I never knew that coffee had to be brewed at a certain temperature and should never be put on a burner to be kept warm. Since I purchased this French Press and learned all these interesting facts about how to make perfectly brewed coffee, my mornings have never been happier.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean

Stick with the original
December 16, 2011
I've had my cafetiere for over 10 years, and my husband recently bought me this one so we could leave one at my in-laws for visiting.
The silver cap has somehow separated from the inner sealed liner, so the whole idea of "lining up" is pointless because you put down the sealed liner and then have to adjust the silver cap afterward so the arrow points with the spout. Also, beware of pouring too close to the top as it will spill over when plunging down. This has never before been an issue for me due to the spout on my old cafetiere being on the glass (spout is part of the sealed liner on this one). Pressing a button to "unlock" the spout so the coffee pours is awkward to do, maybe because I have small hands. The suction in the lining is a challenge to remove for cleaning and I often spill the remainder. I'm wary of pulling too hard and breaking the glass (and thus cutting myself).
Pros: Easy to Store, Size, Quiet
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult to Clean
