Beef Tamales

Since the early 1980s, Texas Tamale in Houston has been making gourmet, lard-free tamales, combining smooth masa with savory fillings, and wrapping them in cornhusks. The company started in a home kitchen, branched out to a street cart and ultimately opened its own popular deli. These beef tamales have the perfect balance of soft masa and spiced tender beef with a bit of kick from piquant chilies. Gluten- and trans fat-free, they're fully cooked. Just steam or microwave to enjoy a real Tex-Mex treat in minutes. 36 tamales (18 oz. total); serves 6. Shipped frozen. Made in USA.

Very small and poorly made
January 17, 2015
I ordered these tamales and thought I was getting the same supplier as last year, but no dice. A dozen of these tamales would be lucky to serve 3 people. The flavor is not bad, but they are so small, and the wrapper is open on one end so you must be very careful when handling them because they fall apart easily. The tamales from the last year and before were significantly better, larger, more flavorful and much much better made. I will not be ordering these again.
Pros: Flavor
Cons: Disappointing, Difficult to Prepare

Tamales a HIT at family Christmas Party!
January 12, 2015
Everyone really enjoyed the tamales and were surprised to hear they came from a catalog purchase. I live in Southern California and the tamales were as fresh coming from Texas as if purchased here locally. I HIGHLY recommend these tamales but it should be clearly written that these tamales are appetizer sized (finger-food) rather than full sized. The advertisement should be more concise or show a photo of their actual size to avoid under ordering.
Pros: Texture, Easy to Prepare, Authentic, Quality, Good for Entertaining, Time-saver, Flavor
