Baked Gluten Free Brookster Mix

Legendary New York bakery Baked Brooklyn turns the humble homemade brownie into a rich, gooey treat with all the deep, dark splendor of world-class chocolate. This mix is the secret to whipping up a gluten-free version of the bakery's famous "Brookie"- a chewy chocolate chip cookie nestled inside a fabulous fudge brownie. Made with Guittard cocoa and Barry Callebaut semisweet chocolate chips, our mix is simple to prepare-just add butter and eggs. Enjoy your Brooksters on their own or crowned with a generous scoop of ice cream, like they serve them at Baked. 2 lb. (makes up to 18 gluten-free Brooksters). Made in USA.

Gluten Free Brookster
July 26, 2014
I add a 1/8t sea salt to the brownie mix and a 1/8t to the cookie mix. Adding the sea salt makes the brookster very tasty, otherwise they are very bland. If you add the sea salt you will love these! I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because of the needed salt for taste. Also I mix them up and bake them and skip all the wasted time in the refrigerator; either way works fine.
Pros: Good for Entertaining, Flavor

these were just okay

These looked absolutely scrumptious and who can beat chocolate chip cookies baked on top of brownies--the best of both worlds; however, although the Baked company makes awesome brownies with their own mix, and the chocolate chip cookies on top were delicious, the brownie part of this mix came out chewy in a sticky, unpleasant sort of way, not in a decadent and delicious way.
There are 2 sets of mixes in the package, so I made them twice. But they were just not as delicious as Baked's GF brownie mix, and they were not as well loved, so I won't be making these again.
I used and followed the directions for a muffin pan, not a brookster pan, so I don't know if that would have made the difference.
