Do not machine wash

We received these placemats and napkins as a wedding gift a couple of months ago. I love the look of these placemats and napkins but I washed them once based on the instructions and they shrunk. I am very disappointed.

Could not agree more!
I fell head over heals with these placemats thinking that they would be perfect with a specific set of casual dishes I have....and they were! ONCE! I, too, washed these according to directions, even using a lingerie bag. I didn't even put them in the dryer and they shrunk terribly. If they were thinner and more absorbent, I would religate them to dishtowels. VERY disappointing and I am usually VERY happy with any WS purchases.

beautiful but poor quality and shrunk

I bought these placemats along with the runner and napkins and really loved how pretty they were. Unfortunately, when I washed them the 1st time, following the instructions to the letter, the placemats and napkins shrunk by more than an inch all around! They were washed on delicate cycle, and tumbled in low my dryer. I even took them out while they were still damp to no avail. For what these placemats cost, this is ridiculous. I've never had this happen before with any W-S placemats, so I absolutely would not recommend them.
