All-Clad Tri-Ply Stainless-Steel Chicken Fryer with Splatter Screen, 4-Qt.

More versatile than a traditional fry pan, this chicken fryer features deep, straight sides to contain liquids and splatters and a large surface area for frying and sauteing. It comes with a splatter screen and lid. The pan is from All-Clad's original three-layer bonded Stainless Steel cookware line, which pairs classic style with modern practicality. A new capacity engraving on the base makes for quick identification, and an improved ergonomic handle ensures comfort. Beware uneven heating

I bought the All-Clad Tri-Ply 4-Qt saute pan a year ago. I already had two All-Clad pans that I liked very much so I was willing to pay something extra. After I got the pan, however, I realized that food seemed to be browning faster in one part of the pan than another. I put a thin layer of water in the pan, put it on the burner and, when it got hot I tested different areas of the pan with an instant-read thermometer. This revealed that one small area on the opposite side of the pan from the handle was getting 15 to 20 degrees hotter than the rest of the cooking surface. I returned the pan to All-Clad but was disappointed when, a month later, the company returned it with the note that they didn't find it to be defective. That response leads me to reluctantly conclude that All-Clad has dropped their standards for the uniformity of heating for the Tri-Ply line of products.
