What was I waiting for???
April 15, 2013
I resisted All Clad for longer than I care to admit, figuring that it was just pricey "show." I am now in the process of replacing a lot of other marquis cookware because the look, feel, design and performance of the D-5 line is far superior. These larger pans are great for cooking almost anything in quantity They distribute heat evenly across the cooking surface better than some cast iron skillets and Dutch ovens I've had for eons, are easy to clean and easy to handle despite their size. Speaking of which, one of my favorite features of all of their cookware is their handles, especially the larger pieces like this one, with a second "helper" handle which makes emptying the contents a breeze; ideal for risotto or coniglio brasatto for a crowd. The handles stay cool and make the pans' balance virtually perfect. I may need an intervention soon...
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Color, Size, Versatile, Shape, Design, Weight, handles

I own a NS sauté pan and now a SS sauté pan. They are the best. Cook like a dream on top and then go in the oven (covered or not). Cleanup (cold) is a snap. Do not buy any other brand!

13 years and still phenominal cookware
March 26, 2013
I own almost every pot, pan and roaster All Clad makes or has made. I have been using the same pieces everyday for 13 years. I can not imagine using anything else for every day cooking, special events or my catering business. I even opt to use my All Clad over my copper pots and pans for most everything. All Clad is also terrific for all levels of expertise in the kitchen. I highly recommend!

Love my All Clad d5 - 4 qt Essential Pan
March 7, 2013
I have recently discovered All Clad, specifically the d5 series. These pans are wonderful. Not only do they look great, but they heat amazingly uniformly and efficiently on low to medium flame on my gas range.
The 4 quart Essential pan is a great size and shape. I did a stir fry of chicken and broccoli, and it was perfect for a dinner for two, but easily could have handled a meal for four. The essential pan is a cross between a saute pan and a saucier in shape, measuring 10.5 inches at the rim, and about an 8" flat bottom, with nicely rounded sides. At four inches in height, it can handle many functions. A great multi-purpose pan overall!
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Color, Size, Versatile, Shape, Design, Weight
Cons: Difficult to Store

Beautiful and Useful!
March 6, 2013
Perfect deep pan for a large family meal! Since I am a small person, it's a little heavy, but the weight means better quality. Also, instead of using steel wool, you need to use a special cleaner. But overall, I love this pan. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. In fact, I plan to purchase the smaller one soon.

a pan that lives up to all of it's promo
March 6, 2013
What more can I say? The handle actually stays cool even when the pan is very hot. The slope of the sides and the corner radius are just right for how I use the pan. It has a helper handle, a necessity for me on a big pan. The lid seals well. The pan looks great.

This is the best pan ever.
January 30, 2013
This is the best pan ever! I can do anything in this pan......fry, sautee, blanch, boil.....and no mess!! The sides are high, so my stove and counter stay relatively clean, and there is enough flat surface area on the bottom to cook 6 pork chops at a time with no problem! There are 5 in my family, and I can honestly say this pan has taken so much stress out of cooking! I just grab it and make whatever I want!

Holy Cow! It is essential!
January 23, 2013
Just as the name states - you can use this for everything. It is the first pan I reach for. The high sides are great because it makes the pan even more handy. It heats evenly and responds quickly to heat reduction or increase.
I will be adding more d5 products to my cabinet!

Perfect pan
January 22, 2013
This is another instance of All Clad doing a great job. Although it is very versatile, my husband primarily uses it to cook organic ground pork. It is a little heavy for me, but is perfect for my strong hubby. Like the idea of the short handle across from the long handle.

Truly Essential
December 29, 2012
My favorite pan, my husband and I both cook we love only using one pan to complete our meal preparation. Wednesday pasole, Thursday, chicken noodle soup, Friday my husband said "my turn" and made French Onion soup. It cooks evenly on low simmer settings and cleans up beautifully. I will order more open stock pieces.

All-Clad d5 Stainless-Steel Essential Pan
December 27, 2012
Great pan, well made, great size, nice depth to reduce spatters, will last forever. Plus getting it on sale with free shipping closed the deal for me. This is my first d5, I have bought Cooper Core in the past, this saves some money, same quality and performance. The handles are larger, easier to use with pot holders. Treat yourself to quality, try All-Clad.

Definitely an essential!
December 27, 2012
I bought the 4 qt size which is perfect for our small family. This is no "small-fry" pan, in fact it looks huge on my 30" range. Sort of a cross between a Dutch oven and deep skillet with slightly curved sides, it is very versatile indeed. Excellent for frying chicken or throwing together a large casserole. As a bonus, I found that the lid fits the 11" French skillet too! I consider this one of my smarter purchases, especially with the fantastic sales W-S held during the holidays! Thanks W-S!!!
Pros: Easy to Use, Quality, Easy to Clean, Size, Shape, Design

Incredible Pan!
December 24, 2012
I just changed over to All-Clad after going to a magnetic induction cooktop. This pan is incredible! The 6-qt size is absolutely perfect. The large flat surface area makes it perfect for starting a mirepoix or frying bacon lardons as a base for a dish. The large curved sides make tossing veggies or stirring a sauce easy. It's big, it's heavy duty, it's oven-proof and it works on magnetic induction. Buy it and don't think twice!

essential pan is a good name for this pan
December 13, 2012
All Clad came up with a good name for this pan because it is essential, at least to me. I have used this pan almost daily since I got it. This is not my first All Clad purchase, however it is my first purchase of the d5 line. I love this pan! Leave it to All Clad to improve their line of cookware.
For those of you that think All Clad is too expensive, think again. Buy the pans you will use the most in the All Clad line and you will find you are much better off with an even cooking pan than a whole set of some inferior cookware. I just wish someone had educated me when I first started off cooking. I have already replaced two sets of the inferior cookware. If only I had purchased All Clad in the first place.........

Essential Pan
December 12, 2012
Received an email in November about this pan at a sale price of $95. I was needing something of this size and have wanted to try the All-Clad line so I purchased the 4-qt.
I have a very serviceable set of cookware and had no complaints with it......until now. Now that I have tried All-Clad, I am slowly supplementing my old set with pieces of the d5 line. (Stainless steel)
It heats well and evenly, has great design, and looks beautiful. It does take a little bit of elbow-grease to get it back into pristine 'sparkle' appearance.
I have had it for a couple of weeks and have already used it multiple times.
Pros: Durable, Easy to Use, Quality, Size, Versatile, Design
Cons: Weight, Difficult to Store
