Frying Pans are worthless

I purchased these pans based on a strong recommendation and everything burns to the pan. I've used Pam cooking span, bacon grease, cooking oil, etc. If I keep the heat on low, the food takes forever to cook. On medium heat, when frying eggs over easy, they stick. When frying hash browns, they burn to the bottom. My husband is a good cook and he knows how to control the temperature on the gas stove yet it doesn't matter. And, not easy to clean.

I got a big 7 piece set for Christmas and am really disappointed with the frying pans too. I'm also a good cook and spend most of my time in the kitchen so I have a good deal of experience too. Low temperature seems to work the best - but as the previous reviewer says then it takes forever... Also the pans are very small, even the large is small. I end up using my sauté pan for most instead of the pans. Also the pans stain very fast... I'm not impressed with this product - unfortunately as I had finally (after lots of Internet research) found this set - and it's not cheap:-(

Received large fry pan as a gift; all I use it for is for cooking asparagus. It just burns everything and I've been cooking for years. My daughter wants the set for her registry. I'll research other brands. Yet, I have another All Clad (not fry pan) and it's grand, thus my dilemma.

We received this set off our wedding registry and have been using it for almost a year now. We love these pans and can't understand how I made decent meals in the cheap pans I had been using before. The set itself is the perfect mix and is without a doubt a wonderful set to start with for your home.

A Fantastic Investment

I have been using this set for about a year and a half, and I absolutely love it. I wish I had bought this set 10 years ago instead of wasting money on junk cookware that didn't last. I cook every meal my family eats, so this set gets a workout every single day and still looks as beautiful as the day I brought it home. You only need medium heat at the most to get the job done, and the pieces retain heat VERY well. In fact I made a batch of soup and had to leave very suddenly. When I got home 6 hours later, it was still warm. Each piece cleans up easily and a little bar keepers friend will take off any residual spots that linger. I love knowing that I can use this set for the rest of my life and then one of my grandkids can have it and it will still be great cookware.

This set is wonderful. Seems to have just the right selection of pieces. It is absolutely beautiful and is the finest cookware I have ever had the pleasure of using. It is a little heavier than what I am used to, but that will be easily overcome. Cooks very evenly and clean-up is a snap. I highly recommend this cookware.

Fantastic Cookware - Made in the USA

I was looking for a quality cookware set without a non-stick coating. This stainless steel set is exactly what I was looking for and is absolutely wonderful. Clean-up is fairly easy. Sometimes I do let the pieces soak in water or use a little Barkeeper's Friend. I use this cookware daily and am happy with my purchase; plus it is made in the USA! This set is worth the price.

My husband has wanted an Al Clad cookware set as long as we have been together. This year for christmas I surprised him with the 10 piece set and he has been thrilled. My dad has been a long time user and he is jealous of the changes al clad has made to the D5 line from the easy pour/no drip sides, enlarged handle, and heaviness. He has been spoiled and he is never going to go back.

The one set you will need

Since buying this set the quality of my food and culinary creations has improved. A quick overnight soak and the occasional barkeepers friend and the pans are like new again. Yes, the pans are heavy but its five layers of steel and aluminum, its not going to be light.

Clean Cooking

After going back and forth, reading reviews, between Copper All Clad and D5= we ended up going with D5 10 Piece Set, since to us, it was all about the size of the pots and pans and what we use them for. We have changed our ways and cook on low/med with gas burner; everything turns out nicely cooked. As far as cleaning: we put a little water in the pan and wipe the pans out. Amazing, how easy they clean up! And, to keep them pretty- we use Bar Keepers Friend for the inside/outside to get rid of any discoloring. In the end for us, it was about finding a well made Stainless product, Made in U.S.A and the size of pans for everyday use. We will purchase one small 1.5 quart and 1 healthy Non Stick pan to complete this life long purchase which we feel will not have to be replaced.

These pots are incredible...I've read reviews and wondered if this is all true, and it is....the food comes out better....I can hear Chef Gordon telling me well done! Of course I'm saying "Thank You Chef"... The staff at Williams-Sonoma were very helpful. Now I look forward to extending my family knowing how truly a blessing this cookware has been.

Burnt after the first use !

Yesterday, for the first time, I used 2 frying pans to fry sausages and potatoes. After just 1 use they are stained brown in the inside. I have tried to wash them manually with warm soap water without any change. After that I washed them in the pots and pans program in the dish washer and no change.
I am very disappointed that after just 1 use, and being very careful and without burning it, they are badly stained.

Use the right cleaner
I have used the All Clad pans in residential and commercial use and have found them to be the very best. Get some good stainless steel paste type cleaner and they will clean up like new using a green scrubbie. If the stain is really bad boil some water in the pan first.

Bar Keepers Friend will do the trick
Sorry to hear you are not happy with your set. You need to use Bar Keepers Friend to get rid of any discoloring. They will come back to new. I have been using All-Clad for a couple of years now, and it was the best decision I'd ever made. Like you, I had some issues with the cleaning, I went to WS and was told to use Bar Keepers Friend. It was magic. The pots came back to normal. I buy them by the dozens. Go get either the powder or the cream, you'll be happy you did.

You have to clea them with Bar Keepers Friend. That product will clean them and not scratch your pots. It's also excellent for cleaning your bathtub-I swear! Try it you'll love it and won't believe how beautiful it leaves your pots, bathtub and anything else. Make sure to read the directions carefully before use. All-Clad usually send you a note with your pot recommending this product.

I bought the ten piece set and it is great. Easy to clean up, use a little barkeepers friend when needed and it looks just like new. I have replaced all my Calphalon non stick with All Clad. I did keep a non stick griddle for eggs, but I am stainless steel all the way now! Cooking is so much more fun now! Thank you....

Recently switched from cooking with non-stick to stainless steel.
Overall, very elegant cookware. The handles are easy to get a grip of and the handle joint seems to be able to last forever.
For my first dish with the cookware was pan frying fish fillets. The fillets came out very well evenly cooked. Washing was easy and if you pair the washing with Bar Keepers Friend you would know you have made a well worth investment.

Using the right tools, especially in the kitchen, really sets you up for success. These pots are outstanding!
The 10-piece set has a great combination of pot and pan sizes for different jobs. Cooking at low and moderate heats with All-Clad helps to infuse food with the mix of flavors we look for in a good dish.
I like going to the cupboard and thinking .. "mmm .. this is gonna be good!"

Don't be scared of clean up

Difficulty of clean up kept us away from purchasing a set of stainless cookware. Our fears were unfounded. Clean up is a breeze. There is water staining on the inside but it doesn't bother us in the least. If/when it does, we'll get some of the Bar Keeper's Friend. We're going to add the saucier and call our set good.

I thought I purchased the best product out there by doing a research and reading lots of customer reviews... however, I am returning this product today. I bought it for $750 but it was not even worth it. Used the pot once to check out the quality and it already left stains inside and outside. It feels like I have been using it for over 20 years... no thank you... I guess quality is not there yet. I doubt this was made in USA.
