not as good as I expected
March 2, 2013
I recently purchased several All Clad D5 cookware expecting that relative to the cost it would be above average cook ware. One of it's special attributes for me was the excellent finish. I was shocked to discover that if you soak these pans after use (say you have cooked beans or lentils) they get soap marks (Dawn soap) on them that are virtually impossible to remove. I am not a happy camper.
Cons: Difficult to Clean

Cleaning All Clad
Hi, I wanted to help out with cleaning your All Clad. You need Bartenders Best Friend cleanser ( available at the market).
to get the original jewel finish. It will take all the lines off including the "rainbow" that you get when you finish washing. I rang All Clad when I had the same problems and that's what they recommended. I've had my All Clad now for several years and each washing they look like new. Remember to only use wooden or rubber utensils though when cooking because it does scratch. But you must remember they are tools (your pots and pans) and the look of wear and tear means that you use them. I know this review was a year ago but maybe you'll see this.
You'll love your All Clad. Bartenders Best Friend works for all stainless steel. Don't soak with it. Make a paste, scrub, rinse, done.

It always amazes me how OCD people can be about their cookware. It is cookware, a tool to be used to create wonderful and not so wonderful meals. A kitchen with flawless cookware is not a cook's kitchen. I own All Clad and use whisks, hand mixers, immersion blenders in my pans. The interiors and exteriors are thoroughly scratched, spotted with water marks, and some even have brown cooked on grease spots. It all looks well-used and loved. You can't keep them looking like new forever. But if you must have them in pristine condition I use Bar Keepers Friend, Revere Stainless cleaner and Dawn Power Dissolver.

You can remove the spots with Bartender's Friend
Hi I read your comment and hope this will help. I use Bartender's Friend liquid soup to clean my pots and pans to remove such spots. I bought the liquid soup at my local Williams-Sonoma. It works wonderfully, and the liquid soap is very cheap (huge bottle)
